Stepmom Reviews
Ed Harris, Julia Roberts, and Susan sarandon give stellar performances in this movie. It's a heartwarming movie. It's got a good mix of drama, comedy & heartfelt moments. This movie really captures the life of a divorce couple going through trials and tribulations. And what a lot of stepmothers go through when they become part of a nuclear family . This movie is definitely worth watching more than once.
I watch this film because of a friend recommendation and I was pleasantly surprise of how solid this film is. Julia Roberts goes a great job carrying this film and in some ways this is her film, although cheesy in many aspects that give out its release time; it's pretty good to today standards. I love the idea of this film and some ways it will impact more on the female side than male but its still pretty good overall for both genders to enjoy.
This movie made me get divorced again for the fourth time. Would recommend, Its a shotty peice of work and deserves to never see the light of day, while watching this I imagined the dad as the director so then he would be the one to die.
A soft movie. Julia is great in this one. Gen loved it a lot.
Great Movie!!!! Highly Recommended!!!! A++ 🍿🎥🍿
"Stepmom" combines the elements of a family film with the grieving process and does it beautifully. Susan Sarandon, Julia Roberts and Ed Harris bring a charming story to the table. The film deals with infidelity, divorce and grief, while not talking down to its audience. Chris Columbus's directing is wonderful and this one should not be skipped nor does it deserve to be labeled "Rotten"
Very good and emotional classic.
Definitely has a few trite misses here and there, but holds up pretty wonderfully all in all.
I've seen this movie so many times and I can't help but cry every single time I see it. I lost my grandmother who raised me, cancer took her from me. When I miss her, I rewatch this movie we saw together. The actresses are incredible, they show on-screen, emotions that we could relate to. It's not a movie that will change the face of the cinema. However, it still, after so many years, touches me to the core.
Just what you can expect
One of the saddest but still uplifting movies. The plot was predictable but Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon give fantastic performances.
We have another beautiful score from the always great and eternal John Williams here and also a fine work from Julia Roberts and a more strong one from Susan Sarandon (but for her, it is nothing new that news), the problem is that the screenplay is never quite as powerful as the rest of the picture, it could have been more incredible with a more courageous approach in the mix of the separation and the cancer story, but still it is a recommended watch and a good tearjeaker.
Never trust the critics such dum** This movie deserve much better. This is my favorite movie drama since I was a child and now I'm thirty and still love it. Thank's to HBOMAx for bring this classic to home.
One of my favorite dramas from the 90's
Es una película muy conmovedora y sentimental; las actuaciones de Julia Roberts y Susan Sarandon son excelentes; es recomendable.
Director Chris Columbus made an amazing tribute to her dead mother. I recently lost my best friend in the world, though it's not the same thing as losing a mother, the last scenes touched my heart and made me cry like a baby. Great great movie.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE!! I think the acting was superb. I don't understand why the critics didn't rate this higher! I strongly disagree with them.
amazing movie, definitely shed a few tears but it was definitely worth it one of my favourite movies
