Superintelligence Reviews
Melissa McCarthy Is brilliant and hilarious in what she does. I liked the idea of it. Got bored very fast. Was really put off by James Cordon, he ruined the film tbh. Couldn't get past the first 20min.
Fun simple time killer move that is silly but cute.
I like Melissa McC heaps. But .. this felt a rerun script. And James Corden performance, as usual, is utterly dire.
I do love a non-serious movie and unharmful jokes that are no about fart and poo. And I loved them as a couple. I don't like the big participation of Tesla in the movie. Tesla is a toxic workplace, and it has no place in this movie.
The movie appeared to be an advert for Tesla, my 10 year old son laughed at some of the jokes but not sure he was the target audience, although I'm not really sure who the target audience was supposed to be 🤷♂️ this is a really bad film, glad I didn't pay to watch it!
This movie I loved it. It was funny it was interesting with a hint of cringe as rom-coms have I all around loved it. I don't understand why it has poor reviews my friends and I was laughing the entire time we loved it. Definitely a must watch I mean I don't like rom-coms but I loved this one. Give it a chance it's awesome.
4/10 - A bad comedy that only made me lightly chuckle a few times. This film is a romantic comedy about a computer that is trying to watch and study Carol Peters (Melissa McCarthy) and decide whether or not to destroy us. During the computer's study, the computer tries to help Carol get back together with her ex-boyfriend George (Bobby Cannavale) and during them trying to get back together a few jokes are thrown in, but they are only a bit funny and this part of the film ends up being more romantic than funny. A few more jokes are also put in the movie when the government and Carol's friend, Dennis (Bryan Tyree Henry) tries to stop the computer but again these are only a little funny. This film is also a good 15-30 minutes too long and at times I almost fell asleep.
It's perplexing that people actually get paid to produce such silly entertainment. The mind boggles.
This movie was hilarious and kinda eye opening to think the artificial intelligence is very much a real thing now more than ever in 2023. James Cordon and Melissa McCarthy were a top notch comedy duo although James played his role mainly only in voiceover. I can't believe that this film was only rated at 30% rotten tomatoes because it was better than some of these movies that seem to rate higher. I think this deserves a second look to assess your rating.
I like the film. Nice.
I found it really funny and it was a generally really nice story! I definitely recommend giving it a watch!
Watched it, enjoyed it, then visited Rotten Tomatoes to look it up and surprise! Bad reviews! Great to see Melissa doing sci fi parody with a touch of satire. Best moment is the US Govt going to communication by carrier pigeons as a defence against AI.
Cannot believe this has low scoring rating. It's brilliant! Didn't want it to end. Brilliant acting and yet again Melissa knocked it out the park. Up to date film with a lovely enjoyment factor. Want to watch it all over again!
Another movie teaching terrible morals about love. Funny in parts but overall sort of teaches you that other peoples happiness is more important than your own as a AI pushes Melissa's character around whilst dressed as the rogue chat show host. Since it is meant to humourous, the audience it mean to take is light heartedly but this is actually a kind of exploration of terrorism(!) Psychologically, it is a sort of exploration of a 'good' authority or father figure and never really finds its way other than singing Car pool karaoke with James Corden. The movie is in general low on emotional intelligence, which might be why it didn't get good reviews.
Yikes this trope is so overdone and unconvincing... Where to begin? I'll make this short: highly undesirable and unladylike lady is found to be highly desired by an actual desirable gentleman with great prospects. Despite there being no prospects and constant stuff ups, the guy just doesn't give up... Wow so romantic, and so unrealistic. They should change the genre from rom con to sci fi for this particular, lazily done film.
I don't know why this got such low ratings from audiences. It's what I expect from the critics who rarely have good opinions of rom coms (or adjacent rom com), and seem to dislike the movies McCarthy does with her husband; but I felt like this was one of the best ones they've done. It's hilarious, and while I love the over the top, physical, good kind of crazy comedy acting (McCarthy is brilliant in those roles), I thought this movie allowed her to shine the most with just how funny she can make any line, without the addition of much of that. Add in the hilarity of James Corden, a sweet romance that felt extremely realistic with the great chemistry she has with Bobby Cannavale (who is always brilliant), and the message of kindness and redeeming qualities of humanity, and you have the makings of a wonderful movie.
Got to love Mellissa McCarty. Love it and laughed so hard so for the bad reviews why not have a good laugh. This is a brain dead movie just enjoy it.
