Table 19 Reviews
Table 19 stands in a unique way that charms its way thru its telling, stays real and honest in its story with just enough drama and comedy to make you care about the characters in this off-beat rom-com. I am not sure I would declare it a rom-com, but it certainly has the meat and potatoes of what makes one. The hodge-podge cast might throw you off at first, but myself was very intrigued in the actors involved in this. Starting with Anna Kendrick and Lisa Kudrow, thru the brilliance that is June Squibb, and ending with the upcomer Wyatt Russell. I was startled that I hadn't seen this sooner, considering it was released in 2017. But I always gravitate towards a good cast and everyone that is a guest at Table 19 of this fictional wedding certainly delivers. The characters grow on each other as well as me as a viewer, leading to a bond that's balanced just enough to keep you entertained and intrigued to the very end. I definitely say give this one a try, I think all movie watcher tastes would not be disappointed here. With plenty of character sophistication to make it complex its still an easy and fun watch. Having recently seen Your Cordially Invited...Table 19 is exactly what I had expected Your Cordially Invited to be. (Your Cordially Invited did not stick the landing in any fashion, lol).
Funny, profound, sentimental and nostalgic comedy about us - people who love, get disappointed, make mistakes and forgive each other every day!I watched it in spite of low rating and did not regret! Highly recommended!
Nothing really happens throughout the whole film. It didn't keep me interested to finish it, so I had it play in the background while I was doing other things. It was hard to watch as its overly sappy.
Watching this ruined my day. Its one of those movies where you think the payoff will surely be worth the misery you've sat through. It is not. All the characters are unlikable but also boring, no plot point ever gets addressed enough to be worthwhile and a whole subplot is dedicated to a young man sexually harassing women. Of course neither the film nor the characters view this as harassment, but just "nerd is judged by shallow women for not being smooth".
This is a mildly amusing, entertaining rom com (more 'com' than 'rom' though - mild 'com') of a film. I liked that the titular table was full of somewhat socially awkward people, for one reason or another and I could relate to one or two of them. I liked Stephen Merchants character, Walter Thimble (and what a name that is, eh? I had to look it up on IMDB(!)), who seems to improvise his answers to personal questions when put on the spot. It was also nice to see Lisa Kudrow (aka Phoebe from Friends) in another film - I've seen her in one or two but not many over the years. Plus there's the bossy older person - yes its a bit cheesy and cliche perhaps but I didn't think it was too bad. Overall, this is a pretty alright, inoffensive film - you could do better than this, you could do worse. Its likely to make you titter but I wouldn't say you'll get big belly laughs from it. I'm not sure its especially worth seeing but its not got nothing going for it either, so its up to yourself whether you see it or not. Its maybe one to see if it comes on 온라인카지노추천, I suppose.
I think this film is a bit dear. It's well written, stellar of cast and the ongoing joke about the burgundy jacket is the gift which keeps on. This is a drizzly Sunday evening film, sure there are much better absolute classics, but this is a bit adorable and I rather liked it.
Table 19 has some really realistic and likeable characters in it. It isn't breaking records, but it was enjoyable to watch the characters interact. They felt very real.
Fun little comedy about outcasts at a wedding. One of those hidden gem type of movies. Although I am a fan of Anna Kendrick and Stephen Merchant this one I think stands on its own and didn't necessarily need the named actors.
Not good, but surprisingly not that bad . 2.8
I was flipping around and decided to watch this, boy am I glad I did. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. If you
this film is just another example of the age-old "the movie is not NEARLY as good as the trailer makes it look" genre! you know KNOW it's gonna be bad when it takes 50+ minutes of an 86-minute-long 'romantic comedy' to actually get good, then it just ends abruptly when you know it could've gone farther and been funnier! which is saying something since i LOOOOOVE Anna Kendrick, considering she is the ONLY reason i even wanted to see this film, and the sad thing is even the sexy, luminous Kendrick couldn't even save this bomb! so, yeah...passssssss!
Cute film that takes a bit to get going but Anna Kendrick is great, the characters likable and the film ends up being surprisingly uplifting and sweet.
Pleasantly surprised. At the beginning, I was under the impression it was going to be a predictable romance movie. But there were plenty of twists and turns that made it fun. It started really slow and almost lost me. But once the individual stories started to play out, it became more enjoyable. (56%)
Don't be a snob, this movie is not one to ignore. This movie is well written, well acted and well worth watching. There are many gems in this movie!
Almost saw this with all my roommates and then it fell apart. Even stock low-key movies like this can bring people together. A good movie to fold laundry to. A likeable cast can go a long way.
elicited a mental breakdown
Strengths: In a film like this, the cast has to be strong. I feel like most of them do very well. Anna Kendrick (Eloise McGarry) is very likable with the right hint of vulnerable. She hits all the beats the role calls for and the character grows over the course of the film. June Squibb (Jo Flanagan) is enjoyable as the elderly nanny and Tony Revolori (Renzo Eckberg) is a lot of fun as the momma's boy teenager. There is some solid wit written into this film and I think the bonding scenes by the core group are all enjoyable. Weaknesses: I really like Craig Robinson (Jerry Kepp) but he's not clicking in this movie. Neither does Lisa Kudroc (Bina Kepp) as his wife. They can be funny and endearing in other roles, but they lacked any kind of chemistry as a couple. I know they had problems, so the relationship isn't great, but you never get the sense that they even ever liked each other at any point. I would've liked more of a connection between the characters. It only ever felt like Eloise and Jo make a true connection and everyone else is kind of just there. For a comedy, it's really not funny. I don't recall laughing other than at one or two points. Overall: It's a decently entertaining film thanks to a solid setup and some good cast members. Poor execution on some of the characters and a lack of funny bits hold it back.
This is your typical fun, "feel good" movie. You don't really have to think about the story too much, and it still is really enjoyable. I like how all the main characters have something of a struggle with themselves or the world/people around them. They open up about their struggles throughout the movie and they help each other to work these struggles and fears out. It's quite inspirational thinking about it. The acting in the movie was good. As I said before, I'm not the biggest Anna Kendrick fan but I really loved Tony Revolori and Stephen Merchant in this movie. For me, they might have been the highlight. I don't have much more to say actually. It is a typical fun movie about a group of "misfits" and again, I loved it.
