The Batman Reviews
The should have casted Christian Bale. Now that we got that out the way, The Batman delivers a brooding, detective-driven take on the iconic character that feels fresh and grounded. Robert Pattinson brings a raw intensity to the role, and the film’s noir style, haunting score, and moody visuals create a gripping atmosphere. The Riddler is a chilling villain, and the supporting cast shines. It’s a bit long, but every minute adds depth to Gotham’s dark world. A bold and impressive reinvention of the Batman mythos.
Was pretty good but I need more
A very nice retelling of a well known story.
Loved the Nolan trilogy. Hated Batfleck. This new take is much more creative and on par with top tier Batman. Hard to find a flaw, but maybe a bit overstuffed. Excellent tone, mood, action, music, and editing. Pattinson plays a terrific Bruce Wayne.
Favorite Batman movie ever.
Too dark visually to see, too loud to hear, too boring to watch big Batman fan but disappointed
great movie cant wait for the sequel
Greatest Movie Of All Time.
I walked out of this film on 03/02/22 feeling like I had just seen Fellowship of the Ring for Batman. By which I mean, it REALLY feels like an epic saga, dare I say, even more than Batman Begins did, and I love Batman Begins. If Part 2 is this good or better, The Dark Knight will have some serious competition. It is long on rewatches, but it’s so carefully crafted and lovely to look at. As a long time BTAS, Long Halloween, and Arkham series fan: This is the Batman I’ve always wanted.
Dare I say- This is my Batman.
10 STARS!!!!!!! I LOVE BATTISON!!!!
I fell asleep all 3 times i tried to watch it. Thats a strike for me.
Very dark, both visually and in storytelling. Visually, it was bothersome. Audio was difficult to hear at times, but I think that’s more movie than movie theater. Even parts of the storytelling had more underlying layers that needed more context to understand - or better audio from the creators/actors? I’m not sure.
The terrible portrayal of Bruce Wayne was enough to ruin the movie, but beyond that it’s a boring movie
could be a bit shorter
With the new Penguin series wrapping, I was compelled to re-watch The Batman by Matt Reeves. To my chagrin it became clearer by the minute. This movie was another product of over hype and mass marketing, but the substance that makes a film great is sorely lacking. It’s almost laughable how bad the script and some of the scenes are. Batman is quite literally the worst detective in Gotham, who apparently doesn’t understand… Spanish. I can’t make this up. It’s clear aside from actor pay the funds were spent on decently cool CGI scenes but none that are worthy of holding the jock of Nolan. Anyways this movie is painful to get through. It’s the worst Batman movie maybe ever it really makes you wonder a few things. Where is the money going? The time and money spent to make a movie this big and this bad are stifling. Secondly is rotten tomatoes filled with bots? I haven’t talked to a single person who thought this was a good movie. This movie does not get better with time in fact it gets a whole lot worse.
Best Batman Movie...
I love this movie. A true Batman detective film. Watching Bruce mature into be the Batman.
Batman is a detective again and thats a good thing. The atmosphere was great in this movie. Paul Dano does a great job as the Riddler and Pattinson feels the most like a young Batman compared to previous iterations. Reeves did an amazing job making this more of a thriller/mystery instead of an action movie. The only parts of the movie that I didn't think were great was Selina Kyle's storyline. They felt like an afterthought and it seemed forced into an otherwise already interesting plot. This movie almost lost a star from me for a throwaway line from her at the end, which felt completely unnecessary. I hope Reeves and Pattinson make a trilogy set in this world.
One of the best comic book movies ever.
