The Blue Angels Reviews
Immaculate visuals, real videos, excellent story. You are never bored with this documentary. 8.7/10
Anyone who is a fan of air shows will probably love it. Anyone who is not probably wouldn't be watching the movie. That explains the high ratings.
I found this Prime video by chance on Friday, and then witnessed the phenomenon that is Blue Angels on Saturday at Seafair in Seattle while visiting my son. Unforgettable!
They failed to show any actual angels.
The first half was really strong, but trailed off. Still worth watching.
I grew up watching the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds. My father was a Lt. Col. in the Air Force and a pilot. This show is fabulous! There dedication and precision is remarkable. I feel so proud of the US when I see them. GREAT JOB by all! β€οΈπ€ππΊπ²π
Absolutely incredible. While it might be good in another format, if you can see this in IMAX. The visuals, the music and the sound made it even more incredible. Should win an Oscar for Best Documentary.
This Amazon documentary was really good. The entire crew did a fantastic job on making this documentary. It really goes shows what it's like to fly with the Blue Angels and the training they go through to master it. It takes a lot of courage and talent to do this. If you haven't seen this documentary yet, check it out sometime. It's a must see.
One of the best behind the scenes documentary movies made. Alot of information many never knew about the Blue angels. Cinematography is a perfect 10. Definitely a must see for anyone who was ever curious about what it truly takes to be a proud Blue Angel
Great movie! An A++!
Have been a fan of the Blue Angels shows for over 25 years. This back story of the Blue Angels and their history is excellent. Many thanks to the many service members who dedicate themselves to this tradition of excellence.
Great job showing the life of the best of the best. Very proud. The critics reviews who give this less than 5 stars are disrespectful of those who served our country. Very fitting movie and timing of the release for this memorial day weekend.
Kinda of along the vein of top gun except real life.. I think it could have been even better by including content of just how dangerous the job really is.. They touched on it, but didnt really dive deeper..Still a good watch for anyone with military ties.
You canβt go wrong with a movie about the Blue Angels. But this one is lacking in story telling and is not nearly as good as past docs about the team. Visually incredible, even on the small screen. As a documentary it is disjointed and confusing. Want to read words that accompany the visuals for the back story on certain aspects, you better be a fast reader. The words to stay up for long. The selection process of new officers to the team is glossed over very quickly. There is very little connection with the pilots and who they are or the intense training they actually go through. The 2007 A year in the life series is much better to really understand how the team operates. If you want fantastic visuals with no story the movie is great. If you want to learn about the Blue Angels as a team it is severely lacking.
Wow! I have been going to see the Blues since I was four years old in the 1970's and watched them transition to the Hornet in '87. Now, to see them from the angles and frame-by-frame shots captured in this IMAX format are absolutely stunning! Tagging along for a season of training and shows feels like you are shadowing the pilots and gives a look inside the unique life of a Blue Angel pilot. Thank you for this and I look forward to the additional ideas that Greg "Boss" Wooldridge mentioned he has to be presented in film that parallel this and honor the dedication and sacrifice of our pilots and service members!
What a great documentary. It's not "just" great pilots and their great teams, it's that they all rotate out of the team. This film highlights the stunning precision of what they do, the absolute dedication to highlighting skill as art and then the rotation back into regular Navy. I also like the fact that all teams are constructed on unanimous vote. Lives depend on these team members so there can be no doubt. Highly recommend!
It was a terrific movie. Made me proud of my country and its military.
Very informative and educational documentary style movie. The Blue Angels was a great "day in the life" movie, developing the back stories on each individual member of the flight team, their families and the support crew. The history of the Navy precision flying program was also very interesting.
The documentary was great, the 30 minutes of advertising and trailers prior almost sucked the joy out of the experience.
