Nell Minow Movie Mom The movie shifts in subject and tone to focus on marital issues between Angelina and Vincenzo and then shifts abruptly into sentimental drama. Somehow by that point we still feel connected to the family and the conclusion is genuinely touching. This is not a typical role for the actor and he brings some life to the film. It just isn’t enough. Rated: C Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Breslin, as so often, is the standout. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Patrick McDonald HollywoodChicago.com Typical Italian tropes (food, loudness) are mitigated by deft comic performances, especially from veteran Lanie Kazan and the grown-up Abigail Breslin. The heart of the story is a reminder that there is an expiration date on family and what they give us. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 9, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Margaret D In these days when we are witnessing horrendous deportations and extreme efforts by the government to separate citizens from, "the other," Lisa Phillips Visca's, "The Italians," faces this problem of "the other," with drama and comedy. The family is challenged with someone quite different from themselves and the answers are found in forgiveness and love. This charming film provides an escape from and answer to.....these times we are experiencing. Margaret D. Relatable, charming, and full of feel-good moments Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/17/25 Full Review Doug S Wow! I'm so pleased to finally see this film. It was an emotional rollercoaster that goes from laughter to grief/loss issues and culminates with a heartfelt turnaround from all the leads. I especially enjoyed the dialogue, along with moving performances by Breslin, Estes and Dadarrio. By the end of the film I felt totally connected to the whole dysfunctional family. Don't miss it!
