However, he knows there are students elsewhere who need him more. Following his inner calling, Clark uproots to New York City, hoping to make a difference for the disenfranchised youths the school system has left behind. Life is predictable at times, would people rather the kids have no improved after all of that work they put in? This is based on a true story, when you sit down and you get on a kids level and you work with them on improvement, they improve. You just have to respect them like you expect them to respect you. This movie was great from start to finish, and I'm sure that Ron Clarks full story is great from start to finish. He has done amazing work and he is the person teachers should have on a pedestal looking up towards. We need more teachers like Mr.Clark. This is like another motivational film Front of the Class, where that with dedication and willingness to know the students, it can be possible to be a good teacher. Matthew Perry did a great job in the film as Ron Clark, and that besides being Chandler on Friends, this should be a role he would recognized for. The actors that were kids in the movie that mature now to adults were outstanding and accurately portray the setting of Harlem. As a New Yorker, it brings back memories to how technology wasn't the primary tool to teach, but visuals do. A great film to watch in the beginning of 2023.
