The Three Musketeers: Part II - Milady Reviews
Swashbuckling, sweeping historical action with great panache that has done quite a lot to fix the gender imbalance for today's audiences, and makes the most of the proliferation of beautiful French castles still standing
| Original Score: 4/5 | Jun 17, 2024
The director brings all of the threads together in a thoroughly entertaining way, while leaving enough doors open at the end to make viewers hope he returns with a third installment.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Jun 14, 2024
Despite the shortcomings, the film remains adventurous and briskly paced, embodying a sense of excitement throughout.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | May 17, 2024
The pleasure of the film is in watching Eva Green go toe to toe with everyone in her exquisite costumes speaking French, Spanish, German, English, and Italian with ease while she dances around foolish and venal men.

Gorgeous French period epic with complicated plotting.

A sky-high bonfire for the planet to gather around and witness legend in motion.

If you haven’t seen Part I or saw it months ago, I would not recommend a journey to the theater to see Milady. But, if you have an opportunity to stream them together or in closer proximity to one another, then you might have a more positive response.
| Original Score: 2/4 | Apr 25, 2024
While looping the characters’ lives into real history, the film takes the the impact of religion on the kingdom seriously, while the very real threat of British invasion looms over everything. Make more of these, s'il vous plait.
| Original Score: 3.5/4 | Apr 25, 2024
Just like in the first film, Bourboulon has created a camera technique that makes viewers feel like they're in thick of things without resorting to anything distractingly hokey or a video-game-style point of view.

A solid conclusion to the fine 2023 “D’Artagnan”—or, given the ending, perhaps the second chapter of an eventual trilogy... might not satisfy purists, but on its own terms it works well.
| Original Score: B | Apr 24, 2024
Those who loved the first film may be disappointed by the second installment. It unfolds like an afterthought, without the urgency or suspense that made part one successful.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Apr 23, 2024
Like last year’s “Napoleon,” this is megaplex entertainment at its most grand.

It’s a rollicking good time, given gravitas by the melancholy that emerges from occasional tragedy. If not everything lands with equal clarity, “All for one and one for all” still rings true.

This is unmissable entertainment from start to finish, delivering thrilling action, humour and powerful emotion. As for Eva Green’s show-stopping central performance, is a Milady spin-off movie / prequel too much to hope for?
| Original Score: 4/5 | Apr 19, 2024
As yarns go, it is all comfortingly chunky and luxuriantly spun -- winter comfort viewing that treats its audience as gallantly as its heroes treat their mission, while taking itself just seriously enough.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Apr 19, 2024
Although the subplots cause the story to excessively splinter, the film maintains a lively pace filled with stylish episodes of seduction and swashbuckling.

The Three Musketeers: Part II – Milady brings this reconfigured adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' novel to a rousing and unexpectedly dark conclusion.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Apr 19, 2024
Truly an artistic triumph!

Without missing a beat, [director Martin] Bourboulon throws audiences back into the action, daring us to catch our breath from beginning to end.
| Original Score: 4/5 | Apr 17, 2024
Suffers from very dull and pedestrian execution with too many characters and underdeveloped subplots. Eva Green is The Three Musketeers: Part II - Milady's MVP.
