The Wave Reviews
Justin Long was fantastic in the movie. It’s tough to follow, but the nuggets you get make it worthwhile.
This was about as so-so of a movie as it can get. Everything right in the middle of acceptable entertainment.
Mind blowing, best suit for your trip.
Wow What A Trip! Great Movie!!
Hands down one of the worst, most pointless movies I have ever watched.
The Wave is a wild ride, but a fun one. Watched it on the come down from a trip and it did not disappoint. Biggest takeaway: The universe mostly cares about “balance.”
The universe provides. An absolutely insane movie and came to me when I needed it most.
THE WAVE is like a movie-length version of a Twilight Zone episode in the best way possible, admirably committed to its mind-bending ideas without losing the forward momentum of plot and character arc. It's philosophical and psychedelic without being overbearing or overly cliche, and delivers a time-twisting adventure with more heart than many comparable recent works. Which is to say that The Wave is properly psychedelic, and not just a clever puzzle or one-trick pony. Enjoy the ride!
A Thought provoking endearing funny ride that examines our existential lives.
I never write movie reviews and I am proud to say this movie was so good that if I can motivate one more person to see it I'm going to do just that, so here we are. The cast does a fantastic job selling you on the reality the writers and directors have created. I know this review is vague but it's because I don't want to spoil a single second of the amazing ride it takes you on. Truly a must see!
This film is a disjointed mess. Not really worth the time.
Dialogue is fairly snappy, and decently acted. But the convoluted indie plotline is just lame. Basically 'Greed bad, now you have to pay'. The rest of it is Justin Long being confused and looking at stars.
An entertaining and twisty little sci-fi fantasy thriller that's absolutely fantastic.
A bit of a swing and a miss. A bit hard to follow and not very engaging.
Had to work myself up to watching, and I'm glad that I did. Super trippy, and completely enjoyable. Think "The Hangover" with a healthy dose of nihilism. Everything tracks plotwise, but you'll be confused if you're not paying attention. Nice message as well.
This movie was wild! I felt crazy watching it! Extremely trippy and adventurous. It was an absolute blast!
This movie is insane… and I enjoyed it. It's a commentary on societal roles we play, what we place value on, and the idea of principles (right v. wrong; good v. bad).
Cool story with the oddest of visuals, sometimes confusing, sometimes enchanting, taking an average Joe on a wild ride through a mix of reality and fantasies. It's funny, twisted, weird, grabbing your attention early on and carrying you to a surprising end which leaves you with a huge grin on your face from ear to ear, as it's a very, very satisfying ending!! 7 1/2 out of 10 points.
One of my favorite 'Pandemic films'. Zany, trippy, funny. Justin Long was very well cast for this role as almost a Tim Allen-esque straight man dealing with a lot of insanity around him. I was definitely entertained.
