The Wedding Ringer Reviews
While your mileage may vary, I found myself laughing a lot.

A persistent whiff of sexism sinks this patchy comedy...
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | May 27, 2021
Leaves the jokes at the altar.
| Original Score: 1/5 | Feb 2, 2021
...a decent premise that's employed to predictably erratic effect by Jeremy Garelick...
| Original Score: 2/4 | Jan 12, 2020
So to wrap up The Wedding Ringer is a pretty decent R rated comedy for this time of the year. It's also a bit different type of character for Hart instead of the annoyingly loud sidekick or narrator all-knowing funny black guy

Breathing great comedic life, The Wedding Ringer just rings my bell with laughter, heartfelt honesty and humor.

The Wedding Ringer pulls off the Golden Tux. It is packed with great, well-written (and even better delivered) laughs and so much enthusiasm. The fact that it has a fulfilling story line to match is the cherry on top.

14 years after it was actually written, The Wedding Ringer finally makes it to screen. Was it worth it? Well, no, but... Had it been released all those years ago the story might be different
| Original Score: 2/5 | May 14, 2019
Hart's manic comic style is actually a good mix with Gad's uptight Doug, but the chemistry never quite clicks largely because Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender's script constantly aims for the lowest denominator possible.

There are a couple laugh-out-loud moments, but it is impossible to overlook the absurdity of the story, and the utter lack of chemistry all around.
| Original Score: 4/10 | Nov 2, 2018
From start to finish, this sub-par goof-fest is cobbled together from second-hand ideas and third-rate gags.
| Original Score: 1/5 | May 11, 2018
Too often falls back on poorly implemented hit or miss crude humor
| Original Score: 2/5 | Dec 2, 2017
This group of utterly unfunny, un-pretty groomsmen-weirdos is truly a sight to exorcise out of your mind immediately.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Nov 9, 2017
It's not an awful movie, but neither is it memorable: you're likely to have forgotten it by the time the next Kevin Hart film hits theaters next month.

Buddy films are hugely popular and this will be too with those who appreciate the fact that the writers Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender have not let anything credible get in the way of their screwball comedy which may ring your bell.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Aug 21, 2017
The Wedding Ringer isn't innovative, but ultimately it's a crowd-pleasing movie.

It's a pleasant experience, if not a revelatory one, and the chance to see a part of the world we'd otherwise never know.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Sep 9, 2016
An incompetent comedy that must have either gone horribly wrong or simply started with a low bar.
| Original Score: F | Feb 25, 2016
Mostly funny but ultimately forgettable.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Dec 30, 2015
While I agree studios historically save January to release their not-so-entertaining movies, Hart and Gad make you laugh simply by showing up. Add a moderately funny script, and The Wedding Ringer is a winner
