This might well be the worst scripted, most cliched Xmas movie ever-made with absolutely zero self awareness. Absurd with no redeeming qualities. The really shocking thing is how poorly the big name ensemble cast perform. Avoid this at Christmas and the rest of the year too...
Great movie! This is never on the must watch Christmas movie list but definitely should be. It has a stellar cast. It manages to be hilarious and heartfelt. I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves because not to terribly long after all that with Chris Brown and Rhiana happened. Either way he is not the only person in this movie. It's a very ensemble cast. And deserves a watch. You won't be disappointed. And the end is hysterical.
It's a good cast of actors & there are some lovely moments but be prepared for violence. Against one of the sons because he is in debt and unable to pay, and then there is a disturbing domestic violence scene where the husband is beaten with a belt. That kind of behaviour is never acceptable but in the film the wife actions feel justified. If the behaviour was reversed between husband & wife it would be scene for the abuse that it is. Chris Brown's singing makes the film & Joe Black's character us v likeable. Not enough humour & too much violence.
This is one of the best Christmas movies of all time! A phenomenal cast delivering fun, drama and overall entertainment to the screen. There are a few suggestive scenes and Regina King has a couple of short scenes in very skimpy lingerie. Other than that the Acting is Superb! The Storyline is Excellent! This is a staple in my families annual Christmas movie watching list!
This movie is charming yet predictable with so-so acting & writing. There are moments that are funny and endearing in an otherwise "meh" movie.
This movie always puts a smile on my face. The cast has great chemistry. Love Regina King and Idris Elba. A very cute and enjoyable movie!

This movie is a delightful holiday movie. Possibly by far, one of the greatest, and it should go down as a classic. Although the movie seems overpacked, you can't help but fall in love with the Whitfield's and feel apart of their family as their secrets of infidelity, sibling rivalry, and family issues unravel. It's enjoyable and fun nonetheless. Each character adds their own spice to each scene of the movie and it just gets better. Also the chemistry amongst the cast was phenomenal (possibly due to the fact that many worked together on other projects).
A whole panoply of family issues, tensions & estrangements are arroused & resolved to everybody's holiday contentment so unlike the real world.
Pretty disappointing. It has its bright spot, but nonetheless, i was not satisfied.

A special and emotional Christmas movie.
This is an African-American Movie that i actually like, & to be honest a lot of them are not that great. As the film goes on i couldn't help wondering if the makers of this film made it to tell the world that black families go through the same things as white families. It has a common plot, nothing original. Lets not forget the token white character, the girlfriend of one of the son's, who they didn't even know was white, politically correctness. Cue the bad guys who are about as scary as the monsters from scooby-doo. I find that this movie patronizes the viewers somewhat to make sure that the bad guys are not too scary, we know its a family film, but its also a drama.
