Top Gun Reviews
At 13 years old I loved this movie. But in reality it's a bit of a corn fest. Still watchable and moderately enjoyable however.
Tom, your co-star had and always will have beautiful hair. Is it a natural hair color, or is it a dyed look? Just asking.
Quite simple, boring and mediocre overall, but slightly entertaining when characters are in the air.
The jet scenes are incredible
Camp nonsense in a plane.
Classic movie. I really enjoyed it on the big screen.
From the tension in the classroom to the dogfights in the air, Top Gun from 1986 was what I was looking for. I think that I was 4, when I first saw it. Along with a killer soundtrack, and some good acting, I didn't know this would be a hit. I was given the pleasure to see it first at my neighbor's movie night party. Good movie. I never saw in the theatres.
For those critics who don't get it and rate this classic a 1, just ignore and move on without dragging the rating down. A one-of-a-kind cinematic classic and quintessential 80s movie that stands the test of time. Stellar cast and epic action scenes. Nothing like it before or since until Maverick came along. Requiescat in pace, Val Kilmer.
Blobbo quote little boy in Fawlty Towers restaurant: "That's puke, 'at is!"
The action is great and it's iconic, but the story really doesn't do much beyond that.
They should run this once a year at cinema's, just whole new dimension on big screen with that theatre sound systems. Blockbuster through and through. Who did NOT see Top Gun?, huh?, see what I mean? It's like Coke, everybody knows it. And if all else fails, watch this one again, it helps.
A good movie, it’s refreshing, but obviously I love more the sequel.
even more exhilarating on the big screen. if this was back in theaters every weekend til the day i died, i would go to every showing. only, of course, if the next day they showed Top Gun: Maverick.
I think it's great and all the cool plane stuff, just the plot to get to 'Top Gun' of all of that and one dead person, they gotta be more involved people just than that, overall good
I was surprised! I thought it was gonna be some dumb macho flick riddled with clichés. I got interested in the plot, and it eventually gets you really pumped for the last fight. There are some nice shots too! I wish they didn't overuse the love song.
Great movie 8.3/10.
Tom Cruise is basically the human version of a high-five, and the volleyball scene is the most unintentionally homoerotic sports montage in history.
A fun 80’s hot shot flick that’s as cliché as it is charming.
I didn’t know Critics didn’t like it. Why is it so disliked? This film is a classic.
Living up to the promise of being a classic, this movie blew my expectations out of the water. With loveable characters, realistic circumstances, and amazing tension, this movie dazzles in its originality and being a movie that inspired hundreds more in the last few decades. With Anthony Edwards, Val Kilmer, and the always great Tom Cruise, this is among one of my favorite watches of the movie list at this moment.
