70% rating .... Tron was way ahead of its time. A great original sci-fi story in a digital world. For its time, the graphics and animation were excellent. My biggest downside was the sub-par acting.

Worth a watch just for the Syd Mead-designed world and effects/graphics-- amazing for the computing power available in 1982. But the silly story with its endless journey out of a digital trap put this viewer literally to sleep about halfway through.

fascinating premise that still compels now, & probably confounded audiences then, TRON looks & feels amazing, but suffers from an awkward structuring that doesn't explain its themes, parameters or language as well as it needed to. tremendous watching still. confused 10-yr-old me & all my friends then, thrills & delights now.

People need to see this movie more this is an excellent movie it’s no surprise why this is my favorite movie

An 80s classic, TRON was a revolutionary film at the time. Its effects don't hold up as much today and the story can fall flat at times.

I can respect it was probably big for its era in terms of cgi and visual effects, but the plot and script writing are predictable and dull. Only worth watching for the visuals imo

Such a great movie in a way that it captures the start of CGI in the film industry!

Tron is one of a kind. it's like the coolest video/computer game in the world of cinema.

A few marks for the quality of the special effects back in the day but the plot is dull as anything. A real film for geeks and not even a good one. Baaaasad. Watched on DVD.

I have to say it, until now, at my 46, I like it, and it doesn't look boring anymore.

A Cult Classic and arguably the first "Game" movie and still holds up.. The best part is the cinematography which is really good even though they are 100% dated. They have a style and color to them that makes everything pop and is super unique. I truly have never seen a movie with visuals like this one has and are super memorable. The effort still holds up despite being able to tell this is from the 80's. There are times I can't tell what is practically done and what is CGI a true testament to how well this is done. The idea of putting a color filter over the actors as well really helps mask and cover up and shotty outlines something that I haven't seen with any other flick. Everything else is solid. The only real issues is the characters are a bit one dimensional including the villian though Jeff Bridges is the best thing acting wise. giving a solid performance. Everyone takes this serious but sometimes they blend in. I know they are computer programs so the personality is limited though. Also, the plot can get very convuluted and this trades in character development for being eye candy and it does SLIGHTLY start to wear itself out towards the ending but it ends just at the right time. I also appreciate how this doesn't jump back and forth between the real world and video game which really immerses you in the world. Besides a convuluted plot, thin characters, and a bit more style than substance (though you could argue there is more substance here than meets the eye) this really is memorable, fun, and well put together. Anyone who is a fan of any actors in this, video game movies, or something really unique will like this.

Tron es una especie de maquina del tiempo, si viste esta película en los 90s o los 00s o como lo hice yo en estos tiempos sus efectos por computadora te dejaran muy sorprendido. Una trama sencilla que va a su punto con una duración perfecta, una historia emocionante para todo el publico especialmente para los amantes de las películas de ciencia-ficción.

I don't really mind that the effects are dated as the visual design (silent movie era make-up crossed with 80s neon) remains uniquely odd. Also it's plot, with computer programs imagined as religious zealots and corporate maneuvering centered around arcade games is more compelling than it is given credit for.

Tron 1982 is a huge breakthrough and example what Disney should do now. The movie can be confusing but still enjoyable through its story, action, acting and characters even after 40 years it's shocking that it's this old and the prime time for the 80's. A good fun hit for a 80's family movie night.

Considering when this was made, it is truly a technical marvel. I'd wager 'Tron' is slightly leaning more towards style over substance however the writer/director behind this project doesn't lack at least little affection for his protagonists.

Fantastic movie. So much better than the new one. Lighting, theme, and production value were great. Highly recommend 1982 Tron to all. This movie is a blast from the past and never gets old.

This movie changed present world. We must know that 3DCG technologies started from this movie.

its old and best to watch on a smaler screen but the topic is still interesting as a whole. 8/10
