Trouble With the Curve Reviews
Trouble With the Curve is too dramatic, and not emotional gripping or memorable.
It's pretty desperate. It wants to be a Hallmark movie disguised as an underdog story a la Rudy, but the writers never watched a baseball game. If they had, they'd know how players swing a baseball bat.
a great romantic comedy and a great baseball movie at the same time clint eastwiid justin timberlake and amy adams are great in this good plot and very interesting good ending defiently worth a watch
Come along for the ride through the bus leagues and high school ball watching life of a MLB scout. And get to watch the real equation of how and why dads and daughters can go so wrong. I very well done film with deep performances by Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams, and a disturbingly well done job by Mathew Lillard as the charming yet conniving "other guy".
I like Amy Adam's and Clint Eastwood, but this was poorly directed and produced. Easy to read and predictable plot. Seemed to be outdated and more worthy of a 70's movie
With the great actors in this movie I expected much much more. I still enjoyed the movie but just had higher expectations for it.
It's just a really nice movie. Clint with his spot on dead pan humour, and Amy Adams exudes endless charm.
Trouble with the Curve doesn't really do anything unexpected. The plot is a line drive down the middle of the field. I was impressed by Amy Adams, though. She goes toe-to-toe with the curmudgeonly Clint Eastwood in this movie. You believe they could be father & daughter. However, the weak hitter here is Justin Timberlake. Every time he's in a scene, the batting average dropped. And then this drama almost becomes cartoonish in the end, with cheesy lines and mustache-twirling villains. It isn't one of the great baseball films of all time, but Trouble with the Curve manages to make it across the plate.
One of my favorite baseball movies
Charming and predictable.
I haven't yet seen a bad movie directed, produced, or starring Clint Eastwood. This is no exception. The story is beautiful. I do wish that Gentry could have been put in his place a little sooner in the movie. Even so, Clint and Amy were amazing. Thank you for two hours of great emotion, Clint!
A damn good feel good movie.
One of the better baseball movies.
Ok this is a cliched film - somewhat cheesy? sure. However, its an easy enough watch and it features decent main performances from both Amy Adams and Clint Eastwood and so I enjoyed it and felt it was a reasonably well made film overall. It does have a bit of a feel of a daytime 온라인카지노추천 (i.e. made for 온라인카지노추천) film (cast aside perhaps) but I felt it had good intentions. I was surprised to see Justin Timberlake in a lesser role - I know he's been in a few films (Edison Force I think was one?) but I don't generally expect to see him crop up in films these days. The sorts of films he appears in do tend to be a little 'ok-ish to good at best' sort of thing, if I remember right. I liked this film as there were some amusing moments present, its not all depressing (regarding the main characters fading faculties, shall I say (thats hardly a spoiler, the main story is clearly about an aging sports talent spotter), its faintly amusing too, which is nice - I thought both Adams and Eastwood got on well on screen and so I'd recommend this film. I wouldn't say you absolutely have to be keen on baseball/sports to enjoy the film either, I'm not particularly a fan but I like Clint Eastwood films and I enjoyed this film regardless, so thats always a plus. Its not exactly a big glitzy, exciting film but it has a surprisingly genuine feel to it, so while its not greatly memorable, for what it is, its a good film, hence my (7 out of 10) rating. Good stuff.
Eastwood does his scowling, cantankerous old man routine again and this time he's very affecting in this predictable but satisfying drama. However, he is a bit old (82 when the film was released) to be acceptable as a currently employed pro baseball scout. It's also seems a bit far-fetched to believe that his estranged daughter could miraculously chance upon an unknown pitching phenomenon in the backyard of their hotel room! The rest of the cast is just fine though, most particularly Adams and also Goodman. But Timberlake, although very likable onscreen, just doesn't posses enough star charisma to create any real sparks in his romantic sub-plot with Adams.
I don't know how to delete reviews. I accidentally clicked on the picture for related movies when I was trying to get the mobile online site to login. It doesn't want to stay signed in.
I enjoyed 'Trouble with the Curve'. There are a few too many moments of cringe for my liking, renditions of 'You Are My Sunshine' included, but as a whole it's a solidly entertaining sports flick - with added love drama. The cast are the film's major plus, with Clint Eastwood - in his first strictly acting role since the early 1990s and last to date of review - and Amy Adams naturally sticking out most. Other cast members include Justin Timberlake, Matthew Lillard, John Goodman and Scott Eastwood - the latter shares a scene with his father, which is nice. A few different choices by the filmmakers and I'd be rating this a tad higher, but as is it's a good film - one that is worth a watch.
Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams are a great father daughter connection!
