Trudell Reviews
"He's extremely eloquent ... therefore extremely dangerous," the FBI said of this hero of mine, John Trudell. This is an important movie (thank you Robert Redford)! It should be required viewing.
This film (actually made in 2005) is a chronicle of legendary Native American poet/activist John Trudell's travels, spoken word performances and politics. Revolutionary, inspiring, and full of enlightening quotables.
A really interesting revolutionary film to help anyone learn more about the ongoing the struggle of indigenous people from the perspective of one of it's leaders.
Great little doc about Native American poet/activist John Trudell. A truly amazing journey if you're willing to take it. Includes a lot of Trudell's work; excerpts, clips, reels, and history of the man's life and tragedies.
This film doesn't do justice to the passion and intellect of John Trudell. While it does scratch the surface, there is so much more that could be said for this genius poet.
One of the better documentaries I've seen recently, and definitely one of the best I've seen in terms of activist biopics. Trudell is awesome to hear speak -- definitely a capitivating speaker and makes you want to rage against the machine. The film also does a good job tying in his life story to overarching struggles in Native Am. history.
What a powerful story! John Trudell is quite a presence. He is a living example of the ability of the human spirit to bounce back after extreme tragedy. This is definitely worth watching.
