Absolutely underrated awesome folk horror Irish Straw Dogs, awesome horror thriller with an awesomely bloody ending. And the production quality was very nice

Hannah John-Kamen was remarkable, as usual. The movie itself was fun and surprisingly graphic.

The film goes all over the place for the first half before settling into a tongue-in-cheek gore-soaked home-invasion thriller with a dash of Gremlins to boot. But what annoyed the hell out of me was what I'm seeing as a recent trend.. and that is completely emasculating the male leads in horror films. The husband in this movie struggles with having failed to protect his wife in the opening scene, resulting in a raging temper throughout the rest of the film, which his wife notes at one point. In the final act, the script goes OUT OF ITS WAY to reduce the husband to a sniveling, whining, useless boob, crying and begging for his life. When he seems to finally be getting his hero moment in the end, he's quickly shot because getting that laugh is more important than his character arc. It's pathetic and I don't see the point.

Sayang oras. Mas lamang ang comedy kesa sa horror. Predictable ang istorya. Nakakatawa pa na halatang halata na manika lang ang karga nilang baby.

Genuinely one of the worst films I've watched, and not just because I'm Irish, although every Irish character was a trove of stereotypes and either crazy, drunk or an awful person. The plot was hopeless, making less sense the further on you get until you arrive at the ending which couldn't make less sense if it tried. The character development is generally awful, again, especially towards the end, but some dialogue between the characters will actually make you wonder if the writer ever spoke to a human if you think about it, and the research into the movie plot is pretty bad. Might just be mad cause of the Irish thing, but it has no business having a Warner Brother title screen. Could've been a great movie, not unwatchable but not worth your time, when watching just couldn't help but think "What?". Goodluck

I had high hopes for this film, started out good then drove of a cliff. The idea was excellent, but the execution was...., well, was. Not meaning to tell any spoilers, but, could tell most of it was filmed at a indoor set, really takes the brooding atmosphere away. And I do believe that the critters should have remained on the edge of vision, almost but not quite full frontal. Just something that gnaws at you. The animatronics were sub par, and just...., well, just. A swing and a foul ball.

Really inconsistent storyline and somewhat ridiculous supernatural elements that are at times (I think) unintentionally comical, but it's just so bizarre that it keeps your attention regardless.

The endearing and relatable characters portrayed by Hannah John-Kamen and Douglas Booth, who depict a touching couple, immerse viewers in an engaging folk horror film. With well-executed story development, beautifully shot sets, and ample tension, the film successfully captivates attention throughout.

I thought it was terrible

Effing loved it! I adore fantasy movies, especially those with ties to mythology of some sort. This one depicts an aspect of Irish folklore: Red Caps. These are goblins, but these particular ones are maniacally chaotic good - but their generosity comes at a price. The characters were cast well, the story well paced, and I was thoroughly entertained throughout the movie. BUT. The creators must PLEASE consider making a part 2. This was too good to just leave it there.

Seriously underrated film. A little dark, a little twisted, a lot hilarious. didn't know what to expect I hadn't seen a trailer or read anything about it but what i got was a home invasion with a twist. I really liked it for its madness and crazy and hilarious little creatures and their queen. Redcap, Redcap, Redcap.

This movie is a hot steaming pile of dogshit. A complete waste of $3. Whoever made this movie should stick to doing drugs.

Emotional hot opening and... doesn't serve much purpose. Then some weird things happen with some rowdy locals and... pygmies? AND THEN THEY HAVE A BABY! And then it gets weird.

"Unwelcome" aptly describes this lame and painful offering. The attempts at moody music, sweeping moorland vistas and dark rural traditions do nothing to detract from the ridiculous little people with their silly voices who would be far more at home in a Punch and Judy show than a film that has the audacity to serve itself up as horror. The grand finale makes no sense whatsoever and at one point, when the "Red Caps" are inexplicably kowtowing in their underground lair, I was reminded very much of the Ewoks bowing to C3PO... Please, folks - give this one a miss.

I was so close to giving this a rotten score, but it did have some laughable moments. One of those films that took me a few days to finish in the background as just isn't good enough to invest your time in (unless B movies are your thing). Streamed worse this month!

rating- Don't watch jumpscare- none storyline- Couple move to house in Ireland, goblins live in the woods, woman asks for help, They help ( insert low budget gore) Then they steal baby as return, woman goes to get baby back, kills leader then becomes the leader of the goblins

What an inconsistent weird movie. The little guys are straight up gleefully silly, but the tone is so deadly serious that none of its main plot points align at all. It's not devoid of enjoyability - again, the little goblin dudes are great, but the characters mostly suck, the story is pretty dumb, and daring to run longer than 90 minutes is a BOLD choice.
