Vacation Reviews
A kind of a cross between We're the Millers and Identity Theft without any real driving purpose, Vacation is an odious mix of tasteless humour and "teachable moments".
| Original Score: 1.5/5 | Sep 22, 2022
Shock and gross-out humor has its limits, and these filmmakers go out of their way to explore those limits.
| Original Score: 1.5/4 | Jun 8, 2022
The film was never going to be very smart, but it delivers the belly laughs you needed and were looking for.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 12, 2021
If not for certain brand of anatomical humour Vacation would be about 12 minutes long.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Feb 3, 2021
Most of the comedy just doesn't work, which is odd because the premise sets up its characters to go from crazy moment to crazy moment.

Immediately embracing raunchy R-rated humor, the gags arrive swiftly and abrasively.
| Original Score: 4/10 | Dec 4, 2020
This movie is as soulless as they come, barely worth the words I'm expending upon it now.

Vacation has the wit of The Hangover, the charm of Wedding Crashers, and the appropriate amount of inappropriateness of We're The Millers.
| Original Score: 9/10 | Nov 13, 2019
Despite the cast's best efforts, Vacation 2.0's 99 minutes are nearly as exhausting as an overnight drive. National Lampoon's Vacation's formula for success has been left in the trunk.

Vacation is very fun and provokes a lot of laughter. [Full Review in Spanish]

There are plenty of nods to the original "Vacation" films that fans of the series will appreciate, but this one also manages to have its own voice. It's a reboot that doesn't coast off its predecessor.

Rather than apologizing for its mere existence, it embraces the absurdity and for that packing up to Walley World again is worth the trip.

Nostalgia trips are fun up to a point, but they can quickly veer into self-indulgence.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Dec 10, 2018
I feel like the studio gave this movie the green light without a script. Who needs a script?
| Original Score: 4/10 | Nov 2, 2018
It isn't very encouraging when the opening credits of a comedy highlight butt cracks and enlarged horse penises during a montage of postcard photographs, but at least it was a sign to set expectations very low
| Original Score: 2/5 | Dec 3, 2017
Right from the start, however, there are signs that Vacation might be a comically unlucky film.

We've seen it all before and, to be honest, the Vacation package had already lost its ability to elicit even faint smiles and chuckles toward the end of its run.
| Original Score: D | Oct 17, 2017
Vacation is not an offensively bad movie. It's not very funny, but at least it's not openly contemptuous of its audience.
| Oct 16, 2017
Vacation cannot escape its background nor recover as anything but a pale offshoot of the original.
| Original Score: D | Aug 17, 2017
Wacky hijinks ensue, some of them very funny, some dipping desperately into bad taste, some just falling flat. (Which, it's worth remembering, was the case with even the best films of this franchise.)
