This dramatic recreation of a conspiracy to assassinate Adolf Hitler and then take the reigns of the German government near the end of WWII is full of non-stop tension and drama.

Although it has some historical inaccuracies here and there, this movie is an awesome screen adaptation of the coup on Hitler with great performances.

The fact that it's based on true stories makes it even more interesting to watch, the way they operate the attempts and such is amazing honestly, the story telling really gets to the point too.

Not too bad a retelling and made very dramatic but knowing the ending before the coup makes it a hard sell. That sell is made even harder by a cast with unadulterated Yank accents, led by Cruise. If not hiring German actors, at least put on the hammy accents. Not the best war film. Watched on DVD.

Good movie, tho there's just loads of dialoge and the beginning of the movie was just a talk show and nothing more. But i liked the ending

Super entertaining movie that gets better with age. The whole cast is fantastic and Singer gives a lesson in filmmaking.

DON'T SKIP THIS MOVIE!! Anybody who has a sour review of Valkyrie usually states a general distaste for Tom Cruise, the fact that they aren't speaking German, or some other clumsy, vague, generalized argument against the movie. Listen to none of it. This is a true story and each performance is spectacular. Bill Nighy is almost enchanting in his ability to capture the terror the audience is feeling at the height of the movie. Cruise does an amazing job of capturing subtlety and nuance in a movie where everybody already knows what's at stake. JUST GO WATCH IT.

A really good movie, definitely worth watching

I really enjoy this movie. I didn't used to be a Tom Cruise fan, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this movie. The cast is truly incredible. I highly recommend this movie

Excellent film -- the cast, the pacing, the cinematography are all stellar. Cruise, Wilkinson, Branaugh and the rest could not have performed with more intensity. A period piece and historical film perfect for its genre. The German side of World War 2 is rarely portrayed and this is one of the better depictions.

Just rewatched this movie. Damn, I think it aged well. Given what is coming out today in the theatres, and given the movies I have watched in the past couple of years, this one was a surprisingly enjoyable watch. Intense, not over the top, telling a story of actual historical events without coloring them with a lot of hyperbolic emotionalism.

Solid movie and enjoyable. The critics ripping on Cruise's American accent while the 2/3rd's of the cast were English accents just shows critics are 💩. Cruise was just fine as always.

VALKYRIE is an excellent, excellent, excellent film. The negative and unwarranted reviews that it has received are quite dated (and ignorant) and It deserves a second look and a second chance. This is the only film that gives us a look into the actual attempt, one of many, by the Germans to kill or overthrow Hitler. It's a great story and this movie deserves more credit than it received. It's well written, well directed, and superbly acted. Don't miss it!

Oberst Claus von Stauffenberg (Tom Cruise) ist weltweit bekannt. Er ist dafür bekannt geworden, ein Anschlag auf Adolf Hitler verübt zu haben. Die Operation Walküre erzählt Stauffensbergs Plan, dessen Vorbereitung auf den Anschlag und die Folgen die er und seine Mittäter erwarten. Der Film erzählt eine wahre Geschichte mit einer hohen Spannung. Jeder weiß wie die Geschichte ausgeht, jedoch denn genauen Ablauf und die sofortigen Folgen des Anschlages sind nicht jedem ein Begriff. Bryan Singer inszeniert einen spannenden Film, welcher nie langweilig wird. Tom Cruise spielt den Stauffenberg solide, hat aber fast immer den gleichen Gesichtsausdruck. Trotzdem spielt er ihn überzeugend. Der Cast generell spiel gut und die Kulissen sind gut getroffen. Operation Walküre sorgt dafür, dass man sich über die Geschichte mehr informieren möchte und Dokumentationen sehen möchte. Es ist nicht der beste 2. Weltkrieg Film, den es gibt, aber er ist lehrreich und interessant. 8/10

For the modt time I tought thus was a 3 and half movie but the final sequence made me believe that it was better. Tom Cruise is fantastic in his role and the ither characters are really well played. The few action sequences are great and watching a WWII movie that doesn't talk about Jewsh or Americans is a fresh new idea

O prólogo do filme avisa: baseado em fatos reais. Ainda assim, como é de praxe, muitos dos eventos foram aumentados ou falsamente atribuídos ao personagem principal. A fim de dar importância ao protagonismo do Coronel Claus (Tom Cruise) como executor do atentado, o filme (de exatas duas horas de duração) se prende ao rigor dos detalhes, aos mecanismos secretos da conspiração. Por conta disso, pode ficar excessivamente tedioso para quem busca por uma boa dose de ação. Para quem tem o apreço e curiosidade pela história, pode ser uma oportunidade de deleite no imaginário dos bastidores nazista. O clímax, este sim, foi muito bem desenvolvido. A parte final da obra retrata muito bem os momentos de tensão de todos os envolvidos. Por conta disso, creio que o filme terá a capacidade agradar a gregos e troianos: a quem busca ação, terá. A quem busca história, igualmente irá se satisfazer. Vale o seu tempo, assista!

Well done. Seen it over and over and never gets old. Probably Cruise's best movie.

As a person of German ancestry, I praised this movie for destroying one of the greatest misconceptions about World War II, not all Germans were Nazi sympathizers like Colonel Claus Von Stuaffenberg, I recommend that you watch this movie
