Caleb B The movie shows the "heroic" Ottoman Turks. The movie is very heavily one sided in showing the Ottomans as the heroes. Was Vlad the Impaler a hero, no not really, but he is a highly regarded figure in the area he once ruled. This film was a terrible watch. It depicts the murderous conquering Turks as the heroes and Vlad the Impaler as some evil villan, when in history, Vlad was a hero protecting his land and people from invaders. Absolutely a historical falicy, in every regard, Vlad fought to keep the Muslim plauge from his lands and is still regarded by many as a saint. Rated 0.5/5 Stars •  Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/04/25 Full Review Daminous G Found this movie on Tubi and no it is NOT the Vampire version people will be expecting but overall but also Not Too Shabby and is based on the version between Vlad and the Ottoman Empire. The Hunt For Vlad The Impaler or Defiler is a Turkish language period action film about 7 warriors who are set out to kill Vlad The Impaler. As a film, this was pretty well made, nicely shot with great period costumes. The battle scenes were done well enough, but needed more gore for maximum impact but that is easily covered by the cinematic experience you get. There is a nod to The Magnificent Seven, Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, Lord Of The Rings Trilogy in the scale it borrows that a bit for its story structure. The film does drag as a 2 hour epic a bit at times, but for the most part this is pretty decent for the genre. If you want to take the film seriously I would advise against watching this with the English overdubbing as the job on that was horrible and watch this in its native Turkish language with subtitles instead for maximum authenticity. It is what it is but doesn't take away from the movie as the acting, the scenes, the scenery and it doesn't shy away from things. I know people will hate on this but watch it fully with an open mind and understand the lore and everything else falls into place.
