I love this movie because it shows just how far people would be willing to go for their kids

A movie that started off hot and left me with a predictable stereotypical ending that ruined the overall experience for me.

I'm glad I only pay attention to Audience scores on "Rotten Tomatoes" before watching this movie. "Waist Deep" easily leans more toward a mid-70s score than a 28% average given by the critics. I guarantee you that if the ending had been "the opposite" for the main characters, the critics would have given it 80%.

Muito bom, gostei enormemente, cheio de situações inverossímeis que beneficiam o ar heroico injustiçado ao protagonista, briga de gangues dos marginalizados que submetem os mais pobres a mesma miséria e subjugamentos que os brancos, protagonista dos crimes de colarinho branco e desvios de verbas publicas, um excelente filme, significativo, diverte e reafirma a importância da presença familiar e da honestidade, cheia de emoções, tiros, ações, apaixonante…

Contrary to most of the "Reviews" ; I LOVED this movie . With most movies; IF I fall asleep .. it isn't that good of a movie ... I stayed fully awake all thru this movie , even in my recliner .... The action was awesome ... Loved it ! A little bit of "Romance" was OK ... The showing of true "Friendship" was fantastic ... and; I also enjoyed the ending .. Very well done ! I probably will watch this again ...

I think this move needs to be changed into something kid-friendly like Space Jam.

Lot's of action, but totally cliched - both action and actors. Bad ending

Great body of actors and actresses. Not a bad watch. Decent plot with a pretty good level of action.

Pretty good movie. The plot is pretty formulaic, but the action is solid, the direction is good, and the performances are fairly moving, especially Gibson and Good.

Too much bad language but overall I liked the story.

In one of Tyrese Gibson's earlier leading roles he takes on a fully cliched story about an ex con trying to get back his kidnapped son. In the vein of other "urban" stories like "Boyz N The Hood", this film works and the acting from Gibson is pretty good as you felt his emotions as a father trying to regain his son. While not the best in the genre, with the majority of the characters and plot predictable and not going for anything overly serious, the film works on a pure entertainment level and brings us a solid popcorn thriller. C+

No no no no no no no no no! Caught this movie on HBO last night. Wasn't the best decision to watch the movie the whole way through. Yeah this movie is bad yeah you probably know that if you ever watched it. The movie tries so hard to be a big action thriller that makes you sympathize with an unlikable character to succeed in a mission that you really don't care about. Wow I mean wow the acting was garbage. Tyrese Gibson as a serious actor... really. No he was just plain awful and was not believable as this ex con turned hero. I thought Megan Good was ok and was just whatever. Lorenz Tate was the best part of the movie. I thought he brought some real charisma to his role and acted his butt off. The Game in this movie was just horrendous. He plays the evil gangster that doesn't care about anyone but himself. The editing was sickening to witness. The camera shots in the film were poorly executed and lazy! Half of the time I didn't know what was going on in the action scenes. The drama is so mellow that the plot should be introduced to a new show on the channel Fox 5. Yeah it's that bad. Even though I already kind of shared my opinion in the plot of this movie but I have to say. The plot is so clichà (C) and non original it was used in most of the movie from the 80's to the 90's action films. I have to save my son from these bad guys because I promised I will never leave his side. Oh yeah also I don't believe Tyrese as a father in the film when *SPOILER ALERT* Tyrese gets his son back he barely talks to him and show any affection towards him. I blame that for the script but also for Tyrese's performance. The script is one of the worst I have ever witnessed since an Adam Sandler comedy. The production is very low budget that you can witness the horrible lighting and again directing. No type of realism throughout especially the ending! Oh My God the ending made me laugh so hard just to distract my anger. Ok there are some good things in this darkness of nothingness. Like the suspense were pretty effective. Sometimes it was funny when it wanted to be. I wad mildly entertained throughout the film. And I wanted to see what else was going to happen after scenes. Besides those points that's it with positives. Overall 'Waist Deep' tries to be something it's not and fails miserably while doing it. I will give 'Waist Deep' a D grading.

An enjoyable enough urban action romp, not smart, but not dull with a bit of romance thrown in.

nothing but a wast of time

Tyrese's son is taken hostage and he commits a number of crimes in order to meet the ransom demands of his captors. Sounds like it could work, but this film doesn't know if it wants to be a serious melodramatic film or a straight up comedy. It wavers too many times between them that I didn't care for the film. Doesn't help that Tyrese can't hold a film and never has. Just an all around boring film given the way it turned out. should have been better.

This Movie is just wow I mean O2 loosing his son my favorite part was 7 shots bam am..bam..bam this movie is dope good work guys!!$$Can You Guys Make Another one where O2 and Coco Gets Married That Would make This Way Better
