This is a great film and very unique idea on how to see a war thru a Animal in this case horse perspective. What I like also was the cinematography used in many scenes especially the war one's very creative from Steven Spielberg. In the end, it took a while to see it but I'm glad I did.

This is an amazing movie, it will really get your emotions. It's a touching story of love, loss and loyalty set against the backdrop of World War I. Expect to get emotional, the visuals are stunning and the performances heartwarming. Jeremy Irvine is perfect as Albert, the boy who owns the brave horse Joey. This movie explores themes of hope, determination and the bond between people and animals and so everyone can relate to it. You should have your tissues ready, you will need them for sure. I recommended this movie for anyone who has owned a pet or just wants to watch a good movie and cry.

The movie War Horse, directed and produced by Steven Spielberg, Is a movie about a man and his pet horse, that he kept very close to him. the boys name is Albert, and the Horse's name is Joey. throughout the movie, they bond, and make memories. that is until they are sent out to war. It is a very intense movie. There are a lot of realistic war scenes when you feel as if it is over. But they strive, and overcome all the obstacles. It keeps you on your feet wondering if the boy and the horse will reunite again, or not. I think it is a 6.5/10, It could use more jokes and horse-playing.

This movie takes you into a journey through history. Showing from a horses perspective. As the horse sets of on his journey, he ends up with a lovely owners just wanting to keep there farm a float. As the story progresses he experiences the chaos and twist of the World War l. Meeting a variety of people on his way. I feel this movie perfectly displays the story of the war and make you wonder what will truly happen in the end?

War Horse by Steven Spielberg was an emotionally well-written film showing loyalty and the bond between a young man and his horse. The cinematography shocked me with beautiful scenes, almost like each frame was a portrait. With the changing ownership of the horse through war, I felt myself connected to the struggles of every character in the film. Jeremy Irvine's performance of Albert was extremely well-played and written. The orchestral score by John Williams in the movie is masterful by bringing all the sad and gruesome scenes to light. I found a few scenes sentimental and I appreciate how the movie balanced its emotional weight with the realism of war brutality. Genuinely War Horse changed my life and I highly recommend it to people who haven't already watched it.

the movie was really good showing us different perspectives of the war from different countries, and showed how much a man can be affected from a horse/pet. could of been nice if they told us how the girl of the grandpa in germany died but overall movie was interesting and good

Excellent film captures WW1 very well and good story...

I found this an uncomfortable watch. The cast other than Irvine do a solid job but, strangely considering who directed it, it’s really let down by the direction and cinematography. The sentimentality really comes through in the final scene where Joey comes home and the lighting has been so filtered that it looks like it was shot through a jar of marmalade. This scene was enough to make the audience in my local cinema laugh out loud (and I’ve never experienced an audience laughing AT a film before) and has become a family joke. We don’t have any other film where that applies, even though we make jokes about characters, actors etc. This is the only one where we have a family joke about the director.

This is a movie I'll be watching with my children to grandchildren. Not many movies come along with an amazing storyline followed by beautiful cinematography. How could anyone dislike a film with an ongoing story of a horse that endured so much to end back in full circle.

A true masterpiece. My favorit move. It is a perfect story. I highly recommend this to everybody who likes good moves.

While Steven Spielberg's War Horse is clearly one of his most polished films over a career of highly polished films, it is also one of his soppiest and shamelessly manipulative efforts. The production values, as always, are top-notch, but, instead of using the characters and story to generate emotion, Spielberg uses the swelling score by John Williams to dictate to the audience exactly how they should be feeling at any given moment. A similar idea – the life of an animal and its relationship with humans – was explored to much greater effect in Robert Bresson's 1966 classic Au Hasard Balthazar, an austere film that never panders to the audience nor feels the need to explain itself or the emotions it generates.

Production values were lush. Casting was good. Directing excellent. But the story itself was just plain boring. If you're a big fan of horses it can have some appeal. Barring that, look elsewhere for entertainment.

I got about 20 minutes in and had to turn it off. Watching people talk to a horse and the horse then does what it was told to do is just a bit to far fetched to even be believable, spending another hour watching mind numbing scenes was too much. No wonder people think they can walk up to a wild animal in Yellowstone National park and pet the cute fuzzy bison, they watch this drivel and think animals commune with us.....ugh!

War Horse was a good movie; however it doesn’t quite reach the greatness of other classic horse movies - like Black Beauty and Seabiscuit. Something in this one is missing…
