Some people think this movie was too trite, but I find it a perfectly pleasing little rom-com that doesn't offend anyone and is great for a rainy afternoon or when you're feeling down.

This will be a film that will very soon undergo a critical analysis, it is worth every minute, perfect in plot/story, good performances and good moments mark these 90 minutes of duration.

This movie was so close to being a great one. It just kinda lost me somewhere in the middle, there was no build up to the characters falling in love it just kinda happened at the end. I didn’t know why we should feel connected to the ex and I wanted to hear more about the quirky best friend, that could've made the movie somewhat funny but it failed. I feel as though they should’ve left more time to develop a better relationship between characters and story to draw the viewer in, but rather it kinda seems like it all got thrown together and pushed at your face like we should understand somehow. The premise was nice and would’ve made for a great movie, however it’s just missing a few more key details. Overall I think it just needs some better writing and better character development till then I won’t be watching this again.

Surprisingly entertaining while being both funny and serious. Not your typical Rom Com. Also love the cast. Re-watched many times

For a romcom, this movie is missing character chemistry, a clever script, engaging acting, and after giving it a 30-minute chance, I had to turn off this predictable sludge.

Wasn't bad. I enjoyed the movie and I'm very picky with storytelling. I see some of these other reviews and they aren't as fair. I give it 3.8/5 (anything over 3.5 is worth watching) if you are into love stories.

I quite liked this movie when I was a teenager, so I can say that it is a comedy to enjoy and watch without pretensions. Now that I am an adult and I saw it again, I must say that I get too desperate, everything happens so fast that you don't feel real that the protagonists will fall in love, never share a real moment of deep connection, and it's frustrating how everyone hides the truth from the bride's poor fiancé until the last moment. point and aside, it seems horrible to me that the sister does not have what she deserves, everyone forgives her as if she had not done anything.

One of the best romantic comedies of the last 50 years, easily. Beautiful actors. Well written. Well directed. Great fun. I am amazed by the mean-spirited comments in the pro section of the reviews. What a bunch of snobs.

This is one of my favorite romantic comedies. Highly recommend it.

A funny Commedy set in a nice English Countryside

Interesting plot. Very entertaining.

A gaggle of repugnant women; a group of whipped men, and a hooker walk into a wedding chapel and nothing remotely funny nor interesting happens.

This is not fun, or clever and the characters are not likable or interesting.

Set in England this movie is about a woman desperate to make her ex jealous. tis leads to her hiring a male escort and inviting him to her sisters wedding. Is this the best movie plot ? - No. Is it still worth it ? - Maybe. Although the movie plot is quite questionable and the acting average the movie ended up being fun to watch has a way to kill spare time. The family is crazy and the romance a little strange but non the less sort of charming.

One of my all-time most-favorite movies! Right up there with Pretty Woman.

The Wedding Date is one of those movies that I have watched at least a million times. It's my absolute favorite movie and a must see for all those who love a good rom/com. The cast couldn't have been picked any better and they do a phenomenal job in their roles. Not to mention the music selection - unbelievably GOOD! Such an amazing movie, to those giving it bad reviews - obviously not true fans of a rom/com.

People who come looking for a deep romantic movie with and intricate plot will be disappointed but if you are looking for a rom-com with an easy going plot this is the one for you. I am the kind of people that hate when they have to wait 1 hr and 15 minutes out of 1 hr and 30 minutes for a kiss when i am looking for a really cheesy romantic movie so i was very lucky to bump into this one. The plot goes fast without making you feel dizzy and lost. Dermot Mulroney is definitely proof that sex appeal comes from the attitude and not from looks, Debra Messing is the relatable main character and plays the role accordingly and is very likeable over all. The chemistry between this two actors is flying all over the place and makes you engage with the story even more. As a honorable mention, it is always a delight to see Amy Adams making the most out of any role she is given. This movie is absolutely incredible when you are feeling in the mood for a fast-pace rom com. It is highly entertaining and leaves you with a warm feeling in your chest. Would watch it again any time!
