Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey II Reviews

Stay one hundred acres away, because this is one big pile of Pooh.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Dec 8, 2024

A captivating manifestation of metacinema, who would have thought. [Full review in Spanish]

| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Dec 3, 2024

Blood And Honey II is brutal in all the right ways and that makes up for a lot of the elements that don’t work. Still, there’s more here that doesn’t work than does.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Aug 9, 2024

Is it art? Hell no – but it is a gory, silly and unapologetically unpretentious blast.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Aug 5, 2024

A sometimes unpleasant movie experience that transforms nostalgia into pure horror. [Full review in Spanish]

| Original Score: 4/10 | Jun 20, 2024

Is there more story? Let's say somewhat, but what is most abundant is bad taste. [Full review in Spanish]

| Original Score: 1/4 | Jun 17, 2024

An unbearable jar of poop that deserves a roaring "BOOO!!!" [Full Review in Spanish]

| Jun 15, 2024

Chugging along at a breezy 93 minutes, it nips from one gory set piece to the next, rarely pausing to deflate the inherent silliness.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Jun 10, 2024

Frake-Waterfield attempts to pass off his cheapjack mode as self-conscious kitsch, with a few lines of dialogue which may as well have been spoken while the actor winks towards the lens.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Jun 6, 2024

This splatterfest horror feature is better than its predecessor much in the same way succeeding Covid variants are better than the early, more lethal strains.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Jun 6, 2024

Frake-Waterfield makes some half-hearted efforts at meta-commentary ... but in lieu of anything approaching tension, scares, satire or decent jokes, he mostly just focuses on indulging old-fashioned misogynistic horror tropes.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Jun 4, 2024

It’s not scary, except for a few bits here and there, the gore is nicely gory but it’s ill-designed, the music and performances are good, but the writing and directing are off at best.

| Original Score: 1.5/5 | Apr 30, 2024

What remains is a hybrid film genre between slashers and senseless violence. Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood And Honey 2 is undoubtedly one of them.

| Original Score: B+ | Apr 19, 2024

With a deeper story, more kills and improved visuals, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 manages to exceed expectations set out by the original. However, it still takes itself far too seriously - this premise is begging for a bit of fun.

| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Apr 18, 2024

A sequel that outslays its predecessor in every possible way, "Blood and Honey 2" offers a reset and gives horror fans what they came for. I must commend Rhys Frake-Waterfield for turning an inauspicious start into a franchise worthy of a cult following.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 15, 2024

While it is unable to overcome certain issues that carry over from the first, this sequel exceeds the original in almost every way. Even with script issues, It heavily leans into the fun slasher side of it all.

| Original Score: 5/10 | Apr 12, 2024

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 pulls an Evil Dead II: coming back with a higher budget, a new depiction of a similar tale, and lots and lots of gore.

| Apr 2, 2024

This horror sequel's budget may be more than 10 times that of the original -- and it certainly has higher production values -- but in many ways it's so much worse. It's much more callous, thoughtless, and conniving.

| Original Score: 1/5 | Mar 29, 2024

A larger budget, a new cast, and a more detailed screenplay do not turn this sequel into a well-made or coherent horror movie. The plot twists are idiotic, and the kills are still very misogynistic.

| Mar 29, 2024

This movie knows what it is. You can smell the honey, the blood, and the love for the slasher genre. It takes itself a bit too seriously at times, but the last act at the rave party is easily one of the coolest slasher buffets to come along in a while.
