Oliver Twist Reviews
Wort a watch. Interesting.
Its well directed and classic- but Roman Polanski's adaptation of Charles Dicken's classic has a boatload of lesser quality performances, virtually no identity and a really painful pacing.
A well made movie, but did it do anything different from the previous versions? It was faithful to the book, but I don't plan to see it again. I did enjoy the opening and closing credits, they set a nice scene and transition. I own it digitally.
Average version of the well told tale that brings nothing new to the table.

Impossibile mantenere il confronto con il libro, naturalmente il film decide di concentrare gli sforzi su pochi passaggi, ma il risultato è mediocre, si perde l'essenza della vera condizione di Oliver Twist.
I loved this adaption of Oliver Twist. Great acting and cinematography. I would have liked it to have a more detailed story line.
Insane please dose not look good it’s like are you kidding me I don’t like musicals they are never Interesting to me
A very traditional telling of the tale. But Polanski's genius and a fabulous cast make this unmissable.
Polanski knows about human suffering, and he puts it on screen in a way that, while resonant, is accessible, thanks to the polished, professional Hollywood style. This is a film that carefully and deftly balances a storybook sensibility with that of the reality (one feels) of Victorian London with all its squalor and deprivation.
It does have some problems like it's editing and pacing I don't think flows very well. but it looks nice, and pretty well acted.
Roman Polanski's version of Charles Dicken's Oliver Twist is a instant classic, beautifully old-fashioned, visually satisfied and fine story telling of Oliver's poignancy and innocence.
A remake movie using set in classic british. Identic of Polanski style, we used to be familliar with. Not special but still worth to watch.
Out of the 15+ versions of this movie, this was the first Oliver Twist that I've seen. I liked the touch of class and realism.. plus the story is really rich -- then again, what else can you expect from classic author Charles Dickens? :) Climax was a bit lacking though, but I didn't expect the 'suicidal hang' part so I'll give it 3 stars :) P.S. The relationship between Oliver and Fagin was surprisingly sentimental :))
