Honestly, what a cheap knock off to training day I feel that Cuba Gooding Junior was trying too hard the movie really has no point. I personally think they could’ve done way better be original. Stop trying to copy training day.

Good Points: Multiple locations. Action, and mood of the movie. Appropriate tone for the story and plot. Bad Points: Gooding character is just too dumb and evil to exist. It is like Gooding , decided to reverse his good guy image in one movie. If you look at a similar movie like Training Day, Denzel Washington had a charisma about him that made his character evil and scary. You had to really observe his character at the beginning of the film. Salim Adel is just selfish, loathsome, and not too bright. Salim reminds me of a person wanting to be something so bad, that he overshoots and misses the target. I know that villains are tragic people with tragic backgrounds to make them who they are. What made Salim evil? Outside of corruption on both sides, what affected him personally? The movie is enjoyable and a timekiller, while working a laid back sit down job, or having movie time with friends. The characters are at most 1.5 dimension people. Between Salim constantly spouting adolescent foul language, like a teen hanging with his buddies, and Armando daze and stoic delivery, the story is limited. When the bad guy trashes Salim`s character (with a "nail on the head, definition.) while held at gunpoint, you know the directors were not too confident about the movie. Overall, it is still an enjoyable movie with a super creepy ending, you will watch more than once.

Dollar Store Training Day. This movie was awful. I'm disappointed since the cast is full of great actors! Sadly, convoluted storytelling (Baine's storyline going seemingly nowhere, and ‘splooge' just disappearing after picking up a surfboard for the first time), over the top themes (zombie PTSD hallucinations? Kids in dia de Los muertos masks? GHOSTS???), and last but not least the absolutely pathetic dialogue. I mean it sounds like J-Roc from trailer park boys wrote all of Cuba Gooding Jr.'s lines! All of these things and more lead to a painful watch. If you're looking for a laugh at the expense of this director go ahead and watch ‘Dirty'. If you're expecting a "gritty crime drama about the realities of corruption in the LAPD" watch training day!

Even more ridiculous than any David Ayer movie. The production, dialogue, writing (especially) and acting were all just ridiculous

A ridiculous plot, nonstop, mindless swearing, and horrible, grainy, and shaky cinematography make this a film to avoid at all costs. There's no realism at any point in the 1 hour 37 minute runtime, the corrupt cop storyline has been done a thousand times before, and the ending was garbage. There are apparently entire divisions of police dedicated to being as corrupt as humanly possible, and none of them get caught. Then there's the fact that the police actively recruited gang members and tried to kill fellow cops to prevent them from snitching. How original. I'm not against swearing, but about 90% of the dialogue was swearing using the same phrases over and over again. The rest of the dialogue was just as bad, again being beyond silly. All of the characters were unlikeable and received awful development. The pacing was poor, and the acting was mediocre, although the script didn't do anybody any favours. The cinematography was woefully bad because it was all handheld rubbish. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make the film as grainy as possible should be banned from working in film. Finally, the visual effects were acceptable, and the soundtrack consisted of awful rap music.

Not Too Rubbish At All. Why Does It Get Canned?? Very Well-Shot, Equally Suited Soundtrack With Some Very Solid Acting. I Think In Being Compared To Other Police-Corruption Films Exploring The Pressures Of The Job, Sight Is Lost On This Being A Good Stand-Alone Edition To That Kind Of Genre. So In Light Of That, I Found It Insightful & Quite Well Done.

First time in ages I nixed a movie before the end of a first act. It baffles me that a great actor like Cuba Gooding accepted this script. Forget how slow, or how convoluted and imbecilic the plot, or how unoriginal in dialogue, or how preposterously out of touch with reality the story line... this film spills toxic swill from every chump orifice. In the first 25 minutes it tries to sneak its failed amalgamation of superficial gang/cop tropes, gang/cop cliche', and gang/cop antagonism right past your capacity for rational thought, but like all bad movies it's not long before you start thinking more about wasting away a portion of your life than seeing how this bowel movement reaches the toilet to be flushed.

No more heavy handed over the top than "Training Day". We need police reform now!
