Not sure who these so called Top Critics are but they need to find new jobs. This was a great horror film.

Even though it doesn't have much surprises or scares its still a fun and very guilty pleasure to watch!!! Stay alive is anything but a rotten movie.

This movie was my favorite growing up I've watched it a lot recently I find it interesting creepy and original the story of Elizabeth Báthory is so intriguing and horrifying it's the perfect film for people who enjoy horror and video games

I'm giving it an extra half star to average out the very negative reviews.Also there is an extended uncut version of this film with new characters and sub plot which is the better version.. It's becoming a cult film with near 14 million sales on DVD. It's a bit silly at times but stick with it and you may find yourself rewatching it every few years.

The positives i can say for this movie is the video game effects are decent and kinda age good, this film is so bad that its fun to watch and enjoy, i had nostalgia for this film when i 8 and i played lots of games back then so i would like this more than some others, this is a bad film but you should watch this with some friends and laugh at how bad this is. 2.25/5

This movie should of legit been a videogames, but all jokes aside I loved the unrated version of this movie. We did have a lot of good jump scares and at least this movie was original and wished we get more of this type of movie.

This is the first ever movie that I watched that has a video game that is Jumanji like and when your in game character dies, you yourself die in real life the same way you died in the video game (spoiler, maybe?). Since some may want to re-watch it a few time, but me, I may watch this again or for a third time before I get bored or annoyed since I'm an gamer myself and I find the over all plot of it so silly and could never happen in real life. An okay movie to fill in the time of marathon of "spooky" movie(s) and this can be played for a fresh new idea for "horror" for other people. I view this movie as a silly satire of an "vidya game being cursed" , but I some how view this as a breath of fresh with a new idea of this and it was during the whole cyber world plot points was always included to add something to the over arching story, so think Jumanji but the game is played in the cyber world, buy you die in real life the same way your character dies in game. But yeah, I would recommend if you have nothing to watch and want to watch something new to pass the time and have a laugh at the end of the movie since the movie again is just an horror version of Jumanji.

It's a pretty generic horror movie, but it's not a bad video game movie. Probably the best video game movie ever made, and that's gotta count for something. The video game is a multiplayer Resident Evil style game, and honestly it's a lot better than any of the Resident Evil movies so give it a shot.

I loved it and don't really understand why it's ratings are so low. It had some good scares, I loved the plot and the cast was also appropriate. CGI could've been better but it's 14 years old so I'm okay with that too.

The premise is so much better than what we got. Boring, unscary and poorly made.

The horror video game aspect of the film -- that being its visuals, and jolts of fun suspense, are great -- the rest is kind of opposite.. 5.2/10, C

A favorite of mine, I feel the characters are very likable and funny, the concept and video game graphics especially the title screen on dvd where you get to pick your character make me happyyyy. The open ending leaves me feeling hopeless and scared for future gamers in the film and I just think it's a great movie for it's time.
