Scar Reviews
It has a terrible and bland script, mediocre acting, bad kills and to make it even worst the 3D doesn't work most of the time and it's an eyesore
It made me feel sad for Angela Bettis, which I really like, but this film was hopeless in every aspect. But most importantly because when in a movie about gore, the gore doesn't work, then you get nothing.
Standard horror about a woman who was tortured and saw her friend killed when she was a teenager and now, visiting family in the town where she grew up, has to confront what seems like a copycat killer. Scar, to its credit, does pretty much what you expect; simple story, few jumpy bits, quite a bit of gore(not bad gore either) and horror favourite Angela Bettis puts in a good performance, as do most of the cast to be fair. But Scar doesn't really do anything to lift it above average and the twist ending is pretty crap to. Plus I couldn't see how this would work in 3D aside from a couple of blood splatter scenes. Overall, I though Scars was ok. Not shit, not exactly good, it's just kinda there.
The movie kept jumping around, scenes missing, poor connections, too many flashbacks and a disjointed plot. people appear dead with no reason. scenes are left with next scene or a few scenes later they are dead. Not recommended.
Pretty damn god-awful! Saw who the killer was going to be miles away and apart from the blatantly obvious straight-to-dvd feel, the acting is atrocious.
A rather unimpessive slasher/torture porn affair but I'm a fan of Christopher Titus and Angela Bettis so that helped me get through the weak plot and really lame motive of the killer. Overall not horrible especially if you can see it in 3D which helps a little too.
A mediocre teen torture movie with a slightly different premise. Most gore effects looked pretty mediocre and most of the actors were pretty bad. However I didn't see the ending coming.
Seemed like a cool slasher throwback. Turned out to be an example of poor storytelling, terrible acting and a predictable pace.
A rather ho-hum blend of serial killer detective film and torture porn, Scar follows a woman who escape a serial killer as a young woman only to find the same pattern of killings starting again when she is middle-aged. The serial killer kidnaps two different victims at once and offers to free one if they agree to let the other die. If they refuse to order the other person's death, then they are tortured themselves. Mildly entertaining, Scar is ultimately nothing but another derivative serial killer film that blends together a variety of tropes, all of which have been done many times before.
What was the point of this being in 3-D? I'm not going to recommend this boring unoriginal torture flick.
