Cuando Hollywood decidió dar inicio a sus propias versiones en acción viva de obras maestras de la animación japonesa, Blood: The Last Vampire no se quedó atrás. Aunque se trata de una película dirigida por un cineasta de origen francés que anteriormente trabajo con Jet Li, se trata de una producción china aliada con la productora francesa Pathe. Cuenta con actores de Estados Unidos y Asia, lo cual es algo que ayuda bastante debido a que la película animada tenía personajes estadounidenses y japoneses en un mismo escenario. Esta película se siente como una especie de proyecto peculiar que no tiene la misma calidad que una película de Hollywood. Puede ser cuestionable a la vista por su guion y el CGI, pero una cosa que se debe reconocer es que esta película es bastante fiel a la versión animada en lo conceptual y en la esencia. Empieza igual que en la película animada y la historia es una versión más extensa de lo ya visto con algunos cambios. Aquí la enfermera de la película animada es reemplazada por la joven Alice, quien cumple el mismo rol. Saya es igual a su contraparte animada y la actriz coreana Jun Ji Hyun encarna perfectamente al personaje. Es bastante probable que ella sea la única persona digna de interpretar a Saya en una versión en acción viva y seguramente merecía tener más películas con Jun en el papel protagónico. La película además cuenta el origen de Saya, cosa que la película animada no había hecho, pero daba un par de indicios. La serie animada que vino después Blood+ contó el origen de Saya, pero esta serie es una posible versión alterna de lo visto en la película animada. Esta película igualmente se podría considerar como parte de una realidad alterna de los eventos de la película animada, puesto que los autores originales confirmaron que la franquicia de Blood es oficialmente un multiverso. Aun así, esta película logra presentar una historia que sirve como digna sucesora de la película animada, a pesar de que existan un par de errores. Mientras la versión animada era más una historia de suspenso que se orientaba más al terror, esta película es un thriller que se orienta más a la acción. Tiene una muy buena coreografía y las escenas de pelea de Saya son lo mejor. La película sin duda cumple como otra película de artes marciales. Lo único que se puede cuestionar de esta película es el CGI y al tratarse de una producción china-francesa, obviamente los efectos digitales no iban a ser de la mejor calidad. Se usaron algunos efectos prácticos en los diseños de los vampiros que funcionan bastante bien. Quizás hubiera sido más conveniente haber usado más efectos prácticos y no tanto CGI. El problema con el CGI es que la sangre se ve demasiado artificial en la mayor parte de la película. Hay pocas escenas donde la sangre digital se ve bien, pero se ve muy artificial en el reto de la película. En la versión animada, la sangre está hecha de una manera magistral y visualmente admirable. En esta película es todo lo contrario y se tendría que haber usado sangre hecha de forma práctica o con un CGI mejor. De no ser por la calidad del CGI en la sangre, esta película sin duda hubiera sido una obra maestra porque logra ser fiel a la versión animada. Esta acción viva de Blood: The Last Vampire es sin duda una de las mejores adaptaciones en acción viva de un anime que se ha logrado hacer en su momento si se tiene en cuenta los intentos fallidos que hubo en aquel entonces. Es una digna adaptación y pudo haber sido una excelente película si no fuera por la calidad del CGI. Quizás no es tan sangrienta como la versión animada, pero respeta su espíritu y esencia haciendo que sea una muy buena adaptación. Mi calificación final para esta película es un 9/10.

It's got cool action and kills but it's been there done that and not as good as the anime
Poor story, bad acting, lousy cg demon. But I couldn't stop watching the actress cutting rocks in half chopping down trees, cutting off heads, arms, legs and fingers. Wow was she strong or what
There was this one bit where she cuts a guy in half from head to toe. That was cool.
All the live-action, none of the cool. Sloppy adaptation of a revered anime classic. Cardboard acting across the board in the supporting cast (I've seen anime-convention masquerade skits with more feeling). The gymnasium duel scene early in the film is nearly comical. Gianna does her best in the lead role of Saya, but her stiff acting and troubled English cause the editor to cut away from her as quickly as possible, in an obvious attempt to keep us from feeling the emptiness of her performance. Model Koyuki as the villainess Onigen fares much better, and her scenes at the film's climax are a treat. She combines style and power so believably, I wish there was a whole film about her character. Full review at Drama-MAX
I only watched it for Jun Ji-hyun (My Love From Another Star)... if it she wasn't in it, I doubt I would've finished it. Some pretty good action scenes, but bad CGI and not enough story to get you emotionally involved.
Something classic about the drawn-out fight scenes that rely on set-smashing pieces and CGI blood. Saya and Alice's dynamic was very cool. Borderline abstract finale was cool. Basically it was a bit plodding, okay, but it had cool bits and I wanted to see Alice and Saya become a duo with their own 온라인카지노추천 spin off.
Won't you just look at the CGI? Blood: The Last Vampire is a silly live action adaptation of the anime film of the same name. A half blooded vampire hunts other vampires in Japan, she was sent to a military base to help get rid off the vampires causing trouble. She formed friendship with another girl and with her help they must defeat the leader of all vampires. It's utterly terrible. I don't even want to write anything for it.
I had heard of this movie so I had low expectations, and it was okay, there's a few cliche cheesy moments, but that's to be expected. The most annoying part of the movie wad Alice, who unfortunataly had a big role, but I think I'm going to stick with the "Blade" movies better. Since I was dissapointed for this film and not being like I wanted to be, I give "Blood The Last Vampire" a D.
Anime with real people -- predictable with some nice martial arts scenes.
This is quite enjoyable to watch. I like how it turns into a cult movie. Great martial arts, professional actors and colorful CG. But true, crappy.

I'm sorry this movie was awesome! beautifully shot and the action was amazing! for it being so low budget the effects were awesome! check it out if you haven't seen it!
