Children of the Corn Reviews
Any viewer seeking a provocative thriller about children collectively murdering their parents is honestly spoiled for choice, and almost all of them are probably better ones than this.

Descends into some hokey territory that feels quite a ways off from the original story, but the earlier chunks of the narrative manage to honor the source material and its commentaries on organized religion.

Well-directed if stolid...

With today’s growing political environment and in its current form, the original is a terrifying depiction of real life, a timeless film that continually retains its relevance.

Despite very much being a movie of its time, there is something about director Fritz Kiersch’s folk horror feature from 1984 that I still find enjoyable.

Tepid special effects and a really jarring twist ending go somewhat to ruin one's generally positive feelings for the overall film.

A promising premise is ultimately no match for slapdash visuals effects, dunderheaded protagonists, and amateurish performances from some of the younger actors.

This is not a story that was ever destined to work on film.

The acting and special effects are particularly painful to watch.

Send it to the cornfield, Anthony. That's where it belongs, after all.

Classic Stephen King horror, hardly popping.

its dated look reminds us that horror movies were once made with only a camera and buckets of Karo syrup; not marketable teen models and computer-generated effects.

It's a--look, it has to be said--corny "B" horror flick with a certain je ne sais WTF about it. [Blu-ray]

How Children of the Corn continues to be so successful and popular 25 years after its release still remains a mystery ....

"Children of the Corn" is memorable, but more as an idea, a feeling, rather than an actual film. It's one of the scary films you saw as a kid and when you rewatch it, you wonder when the scene that scared you so much pops up, but it never does.
