Commando Reviews
Editing in action movies is underrated and this one is some of best and tightest you'll find.

As an action film, it decently collects a handful of clichés for Schwarzenegger to do his thing by arming himself with machine guns and one-liners, but somehow the adrenaline decreases with each body count. [Full review in Spanish]

Commando is full of action but is conflict-free.

The finale is quite notable, as it boasts an enormous body count and countless expended ammunition; this too is almost hilarious thanks to the chaotic extravagance.

Commando was Arnold's baby, his vehicle for bringing his unique brand of action-insanity to willing masses.

An over-the-top, cartoony, and brilliantly stupid action movie, which can be enjoyed because of its flaws, not despite them. [Full review in Spanish]

Brainless, explosion-happy action ('80s style).

It might have been fun to watch when I was nine, but knowing what I know now, it is a horribly offensive film.

An audacious comic-book movie on steroids...cinematic junk food, but even a dieter deserves to cheat once in a while. [Blu-Ray]

Comic book stuff, helped out by the presence of Rae Dawn Chong as an airline stewardess whose sarcastic commentary adds some comic counterpoint to the deliberately overscaled action.

For action fans, one of the picks of the litter for the year.

Chong lights up the film like a firefly, Schwarzenegger delivers a certain light touch of his own, [and] the result is palatable action comics.

The finale is laughably preposterous, with the speedo-ed commando landing on a remote island, gunning down at least a hundred men with fake moustaches, and indiscriminately blowing up buildings in search of little Alyssa.

Lots of machine-gunfire, explosions and disposable khaki-clad extras, as you'd expect.

The greatest guilty pleasure in the history of cinema.
