No Way Out Reviews

Meh "thriller". No emotional content. Very obvious ending.

This crime thriller was really good. Kevin Costner, Gene Hackman, Will Patton, Sean Young, George Dzundza, and the rest of the cast did a fantastic job in this movie. The plot of the movie was dramatic, thrilling, and suspenseful. It's about solving a crime of your girlfriend even if you're considered a suspect. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's a must see.

Hackman was best part of this film, but not enough camera time. Costner and Young were good. I even liked the cheesy 80s sound track. The script was not good. No one to root for. Too many plot twists. The storyline was pretty thin. Wanted to like the film more than I did.

Solid thriller with a nice twist at the end.

Really good thriller. Great acting.

I have no idea why this movie gets a high rating. While Hackman is great as ever, Costner‘s and Young‘s acting is pale and without chemistry. Golden Raspberry for Young‘s hairdo as well as the catastrophic 80ies soundtrack.

Another favorite with a great cast and plot twist ending.

Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise this is a solid well-made movie that will keep you intrigued throughout. You can’t go wrong with the likes of Gene Hackman and Kevin Costner in a starring role. Yes it’s got some 80s type editing but overall this is a very well-made movie not boring at all -you can pretty much believe that anything involving Hackman is going to be halfway decent. This is better than halfway decent

This was recommended to me to watch as a classic great film from the past and a must watch. My partner and I certainly thought the exact opposite. Extremely weak acting and very poor even by the standards of the time. How critics think this is a good film is beyond us.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but at the end of the day I remember I liked it and would watch it again. Exciting and suspenseful with an excellent cast featuring a young Kevin Costner.

Great acting, particularly Hackman, Costner and Young. Unfortunately the story was overwrought and improbable, substituting realism for action and sensation. The characters actions often made no sense. The antagonist had to fall on his sword in the end because the director couldn't find a way out of the plot. Had the bad guy just shot the hero, as his character would do, all of his problems would be solved. But no, he does something completely irrational. The movie stumbles on past the logical end for one last surprise that feels like a flailing afterthought. I think it would be better deleted.

I can’t get over how poor this is and how on earth it scored so highly on here over all these years! So lame, even by eighties standards.

Caught this the other night. Not sure how I hadn't heard of it previously. Hackman and Costner, what else is there to say?

This was a really suspenseful film that kept you guessing every step of the way. If you haven't seen it, you wont know what hit you.

Its a decent, and very era specific, thriller that features on the more meaningless and stupid ending scene twists of all time. Hackman not given nearly enough to do.

No Way Out is one of those movies that'll get you in suspense. The theme song from No Way Out is pretty good also, and yeah, years ago I love this film since I watched it and the chase scenes are a lot of fun and the twist in the end really messes the audiences up. Other than that this is one of the favorite films of all time and Kevin Costner and Gene Hackman are good in it. I really love No Way Out when I first saw it back in the day and I haven't seen it in ages right now and I still enjoy it. I've been a fan of Kevin Costner ever since I've seen one of his films and this one will get me on the thrilling mood.

A movie that starts off slow, but left me engaged throughout it middle and third act.

Ok super fun seeing all the 80s clothes and hair. And notice that Kevin's white uniform hardly ever is dirty-other than the coffee scene. All the phones…yep totally dated and yet a great ending.

There's almost no way out when it comes to murder, even accidentally Kevin Kostner, Sean Young, Gene Hackman, and Will Patton Navy Lt. Tom Farrell meets a young woman, Susan Atwell and they share a passionate fling Farrell then finds out that his superior, Defense Secretary David Brice is also romantically involved with Atwell (he's actually Susan's husband) When the young woman turns up dead after a fit of rage, Farrell is put in charge of the murder investigation He begins to uncover shocking clues about the case, but when details of his encounter with Susan surface, he becomes a suspect as well Brice tries to sweep everything under the rug while Tom is on the run This movie is kinda long Stinks Sean Young isn't in this a lot since she's top billing Not enough thrilling chases to go around But this is the tentpole that made Kevin Costner a household name and it's a cool looking into Washington bureaucracy

I was finishing college when this came out, and was commissioned into the naval service at age 23. Looking at this movie now, the plot is hilarious and absurd. A woman is killed...a woman seen attending many functions at the invitation of the Sec Def (there would be records of that)...and yet no one, not even CID, puts it together, lol? Worse, Kevin Costner could have simply leaked to the Washington Post that he saw the Sec Def leaving the victims apartment, and that the victim was his mistress. The Sec Def was even paying for her apartment, so how hard would it be to trace that!! The most basic investigation would have quickly revealed his involvement.
