Planet of the Apes Reviews
Slow but it's a masterpiece
Would of been 5 stars if he kept his shirt on but overall great movie! Best actor to play the role and apes were interesting
One of the most influentional movies in my life, and one of the most important at establishing my fauvorite hobby. The planet of the Apes isnt an action movie as the modern ones, but is a judgement film, and one that will remain in your mind weeks after you watch it. This film reflexionates about human morality, and how we treat other especies among other things. Heston perfromance is stellar, and also all the cast make the biggest effort so that you can believe that they are real. It plot twist is still shocking even though you knew it from before and is the perfect finale to one of the best films of all time.
A classic in not only science fiction and social commentary, but also in make-up. The stars of this film were stars in their own right. And what a great story! No wonder it started a franchise and increased real ideas for sci fi ever after.
Una película entretenida con un giro inolvidable
There hadn't been anything like this made by the time 1968 rolled around- now famous ending always impactful and thought provoking.
This movie is what i think of whenever i see the meme "absolute cinema"
I think that the central part of the movie was kind of boring, but still watchable. Burg then there comes the ending of the movie, which is an absolute masterpiece. The cast was solid though. Definitely worth a watch, but it could have been better.
filme bacaninha, ator principal é bacana, mas o resto do filme não é interresante, mas o plot twist é sensacional.
Good movie with great shots. However, apart from being instantaneously predictable from the beginning, it is quite silly at times, it drags a lot and it tries too hard to deliver a message that did not need to be told so explicitly. Warning: the ending contains the most cringeworthy scene ever.
Everything about this film is fantastic. There are, of course, some cheesy effects, zooms, and costuming - but the overall story is incredible. Definitely stands up to the test of time. A classic.
THIS MOVIE IS A CLASSIC TO THE CINEMATIC UNIVERSE! This is a timeless, iconic masterpiece. The acting is grey and the way they tell the evolutionary reversal is just mind-blowing for a late 60s movie.I had a blast with this movie I love the 2010 remakes too.I personally think the Planet of the apes is the most underrated franchise on the face of the earth.Totally recommend “TAKE YOUR STINKIN PAWS OF ME YOU DAMN DIRTY APE!” -Charlton Heston
Very good, unpredictable, it grabs your attention all the time. Much better than the new movies.
One of the biggest surprises of this film was that the space effects have aged worse than the apes. The beginning is slow and obnoxiously noisy at times, but once you get past that there's a great science fiction movie told with great performances and thankfully tolerable ape costumes. The refreshing part about this movie was the plot, which still feels crisp at this point, not the over-used saturated thing most franchises make of themselves over time.
WOW, I’m not much of a sci-fi guy but wow. Seriously a great film, I cannot believe something that good was right under my nose the whole time. I had been told all the original films were bad, and I’m not certain if the others are but this was fantastic.
The first and the best. A sci fi classic. Ingrid Bergman was offered the part of Dr Zira which she knocked back and regretted.
I come back to this often. Genious
Very classic movie, definitely worth a rewatch. In my opinion, it was extremely ahead of its time, great film.
Absolute classic but pales in comparison to the reboot films
A hidden gem; a unique dive into the world of science fiction.
