Risky business is so highly entertaining, sexy, funny and really outstanding cast including the young Tom Cruise performance absolutely stellar role and really fantastic cinematography and writing and great directing.

An entertaining satirical ride that is simply more fun and more intelligent than what you expect it to be.

I finally sat down to watch the movie that launched Tom Cruise's career into stardom. Besides the famous dancing scene, Risky Business is a discombobulated mess with a silly and unrealistic premise. Perhaps its charm has been lost over time.

There's a time to play it safe and a time for risky business One of Tom Cruise's earliest and finest roles when he was just starting out after 40 years Directed by Paul Brickman Cruise plays Joel, a straight-arrow who's excited to have his folks gone for a few days He has the house to himself and decides to have a call girl over named Lana The next few days she just happens to be working for an overbearing, violent pimp that plans to make him pay unless she can Joel plans to go to college but doesn't want to make a mistake, he wrestles with a metaphorical form of adulthood He's got a plethora of things to fix before his whole life is ruined from his dads wrecked car to his furniture being stolen Does anyone want to make lots of money or accomplish anything? The movie works thanks to a talented performance by Cruise as a wild streak looking to break free, a nice soothing electronic score by Tangerine Dream, Rebecca de Mornay's charisma being a tantalizing mystery, and seeing that as a teenager you can start to find your true passions once you've got a taste of running things There's that infamous dance scene too of Cruise we can never forget Plenty of teen angst exploring dark themes Yes it's quite problematic-depicting sex workers and it’s a product of the Regan era but it does capture certain truths being young while also relating to the emotional whiplash adolescent vibes How many of us want everything to be safe and predictable so things don't go out of control? Joel goes through heaven and hell paying the emotional price surrendering his innocence as well as financial not to mention the fantasies he has covering his anxieties A terrific art-directed allusion to growing up thanks to Brickman making a lot of the camerawork having sensual undertones almost coming off as an erotic music video Brickman turned his back on Hollywood after studio executives he admitted made him change the ending but it was still his first successful turn in the industry Great ambiguity in the storytelling, two amazing leads, and a great sense of John Hughes-like sensibility acting as a smart, perceptive satire on the culture of money making as well as the end of innocence

The edgy inspiration for Ferris Bueller's Day Off. 7.1/10.

The film must have been interesting at the time, but today, alas, it is not for me. "Genre" should be: - Sexy. Haha , loved the sexy scenes.

I was not expecting to love this honestly. I knew I would like it just based off the trailer, but it was brilliant. This is my type of movie. A teen has the house to himself and gets into Risky Business (pun intended). Somehow, this is one of my favorite films now. Especially one of my favorites from Tom Cruise. I've seen the meme of him dancing in his underwear and him awkwardly smiling in his glasses, but it's so much better than the memes.

Classic film of the 80s. A must-check.

Minha opinião: Um filme de 40 anos atrás, onde Tom tira cara de baby. Várias partes deste filme são memes conhecidos. A dança de Tom, o sorriso icônico do Tom, são todos tirados deste filme. Ao estilo da comédia dá época, Curtindo a Vida a Doidado, Porks, Nerds,....... E as comédias desta décadas são icônicas. Tom é o filhinho certinho, que esta prestes a se formar e entrar na faculdade. Os pais dele sai para uma viagem e deixam seu filhinho certinho sozinho na casa. Mas como todo adolecente vai procurar emoções. E nisso Tom chama Rebecca uma prostituta dos anúncios. Tom não acreditava que ela viria, mas ela veio, ele se divertiu, mas na hora de pagar? Ele não tinha $$$$ ai começa toda a confusão, enquanto ele vai tirar o $$$ do caixa eletrônico, quando ele volta, ela não esta mais, mas ela levou um vaso, valioso. Então Tom vai procurar ela e o vaso. Mas ele se envolve com o cafetão. Ela vai morar com ele, e eles saem, mas quando sai com o Porshe do pai, ele cai no rio. Ele ta enrascado e precisa resolver tudo pois seus pais estão voltando. Então eles fazem da casa dele um casa da luz vermelha. Rebecca chama suas amigas e a festa começa. Mas aparece o cafetão que rouba toda casa e Tom tem que recomprar tudo. Até que os pais chegam e depois de tanto corre corre a mae reclama de um risco. kkkkk Roteiro e enredo para a década de 80 onde o proibido é permitido. Vale apena assistir? Para quem curte nostalgia. Funny movie. Gotta love the singing scene at the beginning in the house. Good early tom cruise

Some parts of the movie are a little hard to believe or accept. For example, my boy Joel has absolutley zero game yet processed to bag the baddest shawty possible. This also isnt even counting Joel getting into Princeton because I actually liked that. Most the acting was alright. Not super funny just had funny moments. Great soundtrack. Overall didnt meet expectations.

This should be renamed to A Boy's fantasy, it's no every day you see young Tom...
