Cool World is a Wild but interesting ride at best. Holli Would is definitely a Villian ahead of her time. Maybe even in 1992 society wasn’t ready for this film either, but a way outside of the box in thought Multiverse reality to cartoon worlds that collide. Brad Pitt and Kim Bassinger have great chemistry, not enough for Cool World to get a pass in its era for a good movie.

It's really too bad that we couldn't get the original vision of this movie, as I suspect it would be pretty great. As it stands it really a cheap Roger Rabbit knockoff. I have always been disappointed by this movie's promise, ever since I was a kid, but viewing it with fresh eyes and expectations in check it's got some fun stuff going on.

this is not good, lol. not even a young Bradd Pitt playing dressup in his father's closet could save it.

Bottom of the barrel Live Action Animation Crossover. Easily the worst of them all. What's crazy is how just nonsensical, insane, surreal, and nonsensical this is. It actually starts out good the first 5 minutes but the moment Pitt goes into Cool World it just goes nuts and forgets any sense of story, character, or just reality. The music is awful in this as well with a weird mixture of 90's music, metal, toon music, and generic tracks that never work and is just a mess. Everything else is atrociously bad. The animation doesn't come close at all to Roger Rabbit (shadows, general animation) and looks cheap. The backgrounds are like a dark Toon World that filled with crazy Looney Tunes in it. And it never makes any sense and just literally makes up rules as it goes. There are some cool ideas like Toons becoming Real and the Real/Toon Worlds but it never explains anything. Pitt's story with his Mom is forgotten, how they travel between worlds is never explained, the rules of being a Toon are never explained, how did Pitt die but didn't become a toon until it was explained a long time later is the biggest lazy writing hole I've seen in one of these types of flicks possibly ever. What's crazy is Jack becomes the main focus midway and it feels like almost two completely seperate nonsensical stories with him and Pitt tha never make a lick of sense. Also, the weird horny toons and dark humor is just insane and out of place and the toon sex is just so weird. When they interact with the toons it never comes close to the quality of Bob Hoskins. Also, I guess Holli is the villian but than she becomes the main focus and isn't but kind of becomes it at the end. It truly makes no sense at all. Skip This completely. THE worst animated live action movies I've ever seen.

Cool World has the amazing locations, interesting style and a great soundtrack. The only thing it's sorely missing is plot and common sense.

This was a failed attempt at repeating the success of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." This film was really weak on plot. In fact, I am not really certain what the plot of this film was.

I actually dont hate this movie as much as other people do, don't get me wrong, it sucks, but I enjoy it for what it is.

It's about a man wanting to fuck a cartoon, you gotta see it

The movie's cartoons all resemble juvenile artwork you might find on some middle schooler's trapper keeper in the '80s and the sets and acting are straight out of high school drama. I do believe there is an attempt at a story underneath all the cartoons on acid and it's not about who the movie promotes. Both Kim Basinger and Gabriel Byrne end up as the butt of the joke as their ambitions for creator and creation to uh..." merge" have unexpected consequences and the selfish, careless, vixen gets what she deserves. Meanwhile, the heart of the film is the tragic do-gooder human cop played by Brad Pitt and his faithful, cartoon, waitress counterpart. They love each other but respect the rules about..."cross-dimensional breeding" and so they abstain from whoopie. In the end however cartoon magic happens and...this is still a mostly creative but witless film.

I grew up with this movie and to me it's a classic. Remember this movie came out in 1992, so are you raiting it from then or now?

Cool World is a severely underrated gem that propels past it's many errors, (both technically and script wise), with striking visual charm and a creative artstyle. Cool World cartoon underbelly world oozes an undeniably fun atmosphere that's well worth the watch alone.

What did I just watched? Definitely a case of study, how a movie so unique can be so joyless, souless and not interesting at all. The movie tries to be a Neo Noir that mixes crazy animation and Live adtion, but they just weren't able to balance the craziness with good storytelling. Dialogue is one of the worst thing I have encounter in a movie and characters are so uninspired. I had read about this disaater many time Inhad to see it for myself, it is a bad movie. It is obvious, but better watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit 20 times before watching this again.

Without a doubt, this is Brad Pitt's worst film. With very unfunny humor, unlikable and forgettable characters, lame story, horrible acting, and it trying to hard to be like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", this was such an abomination.

Rodger Rabbit it is not.

A result of the mini-fad of blending live action and animation made popular by Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, this is a film with no discernible plot and, save a few good animation sequences, nothing that captures your interest.
