Copycat Reviews
I had not seen this movie in years and thankfully it showed up on Hulu because I had forgotten just how great it really was. Way ahead of it's time, in my honest opinion. Superb cast, Holly Hunter is a gem & you can never go wrong with Sigourney Weaver. Cast also includes Harry Connick Jr., Dermot Mulroney & Will Patton, amongst other talented performers. I do not want to talk too much about the movie itself, as to not ruin it for anyone who may read this review, but you will not regret taking a couple of hours out of your evening to give this classic a viewing.
Strong acting makes this throwback attainable
A waste of good actors in a ridiculous script. From the opening scene where the bad guy attacks Sigourney Weaver and shoots a cop in a building with a ton of other people. Sure to go undetected.
Copycat follows in the footsteps of recent serial killer thrillers before it, but along the way manages to find some fresh kicks of its own.
Rating: 7/10. 70/100
Absolutely dreadful with gaping plot holes. It beggars belief that this garbage is so highly rated?
Really good movie with two leading actresses that steal the show. Some things are a tad predictable, but the story is good nonetheless.
A great cast with a decent script that keeps you entertained throughout its run time. Get your popcorn enjoy the suspense and have a good time.
Tubi recommended this film. I don't know... I was not a fan. Too much about the story was just ridiculous.
Of course it looks somewhat dated now. But Holly Hunter and Sigourney Weaver are excellent and their characters' relationship development real and powerful. Worth a watch.
an underrated 90's thriller, great cast and score.
"Copycat" offers a thrilling ride through the twisted minds of serial killers, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre. While it may not reach the pinnacle of serial killer cinema, it certainly holds its own. The film's strengths lie in its impeccable casting, with top-tier actresses delivering compelling performances. Sigourney Weaver and Holly Hunter steal the show as the leading ladies, bringing to life the dynamic between their characters with a chemistry that's both electric and heartwarming. Their portrayal of a seasoned criminal psychologist and an eager detective adds depth to the storyline. The film's cat-and-mouse game between the protagonist and a cunning serial killer keeps you on the edge of your seat. Although "Copycat" doesn't break new ground in the genre, it's a well-executed thriller with enough suspense and surprises to satisfy your craving for a decent serial killer flick. If you're a fan of the genre, it's worth a watch.
Copycat's extremely intelligent twists and plot keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the amazing cast and score makes the movie even better.
it is still an affective thriller even today. good acting, great music
Sigourney Weaver gives a solid performance and the rest of the cast is good too. The film is good for a 90s crime thriller but it can feel abit dated watching it now. Most of the story is good and entertaining, however the ending is predictable and abit cheesy.
Utterly unmissable serial killer thriller with two of the finest actresses ever.. whilst the subject might not be for everyone, the way it's told is supremely entertaining and the end result is nothing short of magnificent..
It is not as good as Seven but it is still a solid thriller.
Sigourney Weaver as usual gives top performance and acting.
