Fallen Reviews
Stellar performance by Denzel and John Goodman. I think this is my favorite Denzel Washington movie. It’s a spiritual thriller that’s unique as it isn’t horror, rather psychological.
Solid B-. Denzel and the demon delivers worth to watch. Ending is cool but ruin by the opening itself.
Time on my side.... 👀
The ending was so good that it made me happy that I finished this film......however I would say its also not the most entertaining watch when you are expecting the main character to catch up to the conclusion to what the audience already figured out 15 minutes in the film run time.
That is great movie.. very good cast , and good atmosphere. I think this movie is underrated. I found him classic thriller.
Great cast in a suspenseful story with twists and turns. Denzel Washington portrayal is stromg enough to gloss over any shortcomings. Highly recommend.
Interesting unique premise and execution. Denzel Washington and Supporting Cast do a great job.
This movie is one of my favourites. It has a rich plot and has a twist ending that while is unsatisfactory following the story arch of a movie, is ultimately better and more satisfying than any other option. It has an amazing story line that truly developed beautifully over the course of the film.
Really enjoyed it. Not bad at all, and it’s a crazy movie.
One of my favourite films of all time is 1998's 'Fallen'. SYNOPSIS: 'Homicide detective John Hobbes witnesses the execution of serial killer Edgar Reese. Soon after the execution, the killings start again, and they are very similar to Reese's style.' 'Fallen' never got the acclaim it deserved on its release, especially considering the quality within the acting cast. In recent years though it has taken on a life of its own as a brilliant supernatural thriller. And that's well deserved. This is a gloomy and dark city, very much akin to the world of 'Seven', and you could imagine both films existing in a shared universe. It's erratic in places, and Washington really hams it up in places, but ultimately it's a very stylish and dark thriller. One which could easily provoke nightmares. A creepy psychological classic with an excellent twist. And that Rolling Stones song will be stuck in your head for days. 8/10
Disappointing, could have been so much more.
Good movie with good twists top tier movie
I don't know why rotten tomatoes keep giving serious bad horror movies scores up to 94 certified fresh but this underrated, criminally underrated movie a 40. I don't trust these ratings anymore I missed too much good movies because of that happily I like this one from the start when ratings on internet didn't or barely existed.
None of the stars in this can elevate it when the plot is thinner and cheesier than a goosebumps book. Goodman's character got the closest to ringing true, but I'd only recommend this to his super fans.
I liked it! A brave cop (Denzel) pursues an immortal, homocidal demon who can switch bodies simply by touch. The demon keeps chirping "tiiiiiime is on my side - yes it is!" at Washington, driving him nuts. This hidden gem also features the late James Gandolfini, John Goodman and Donald Sutherland.
I love this movie! It's really out there. Its such a refreshing change to see Denzel Washington in something with a spiritual and supernatural nature, but also a suspense thriller as opposed to his typical action movies. This is one of Denzel's best movies in my opinion.I also liked that the cast included John Goodman, who was great in this movie, and Donald Sutherland who did a great job playing a corrupt chief investigator or something along those lines,of law enforcement.I also love the Rolling Stones songs that were used in it and.
Interesting, good concept for a horror action flick.
Another one where the critics rating really doesn't capture the quality of the film. Most of it is really enjoyable - I've docked half a star because I thought the ending didn't make sense in terms of the character motivation. I don't want to spoil anything - let's just say the sacrifice that was made seemed wholly unnecessary and purely motivated to create 'drama', so I didn't really buy it.
Absolutely awful movie. The story is stupid, the acting sucks, and the ending is unbelievably corny. Poor Denzel got talked into this shitter.
