Even SNL fans will find this movie too long.

A pleasant surprise.

Contrasting the erotic with the disgusting is usually provocative and can be funny, but not in this underdog comedy.

Mary Katherine Gallagher takes a little getting used to for the unwitting viewer. She grows on you, though, and, despite yourself, you get to like her quirky ways.

This movie manages to have more touching and hilarious moments than most schlock comedies could hope for.

Much more enjoyable than the sketches on which it is based, and Shannon's performance is brimming with fun and energy.

Predictable is the word for “Superstar.” It starts out innocently and uses up all the funny gags in the previews, then expects the audience to sit idly by and watch the train wreck unfold with no reasonable fanfare or excitement.

I've seen this sketch numerous times on SNL -- it isn't funny at five minutes, at 90 minutes it's unbearable.

"Saturday Night Live"-sketch-turned-film is slight -- and surprisingly enjoyable.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Nov 7, 2002
Seriously awful one-joke stupidity.

In the higher middle of producer Lorne Michaels' cinematic oeuvre.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Jun 25, 2002
A stick-figure Rembrandt that provides neither the quick surreal poke of a 온라인카지노추천 satire nor the full lustre of an actual movie.
| Original Score: 0.5/4 | Mar 22, 2002
Bikini waxing and pulling chin hairs is much more enjoyable.
| Original Score: 1/5 | Feb 14, 2001
While the plot is well-worn and somewhat clumsily put together, the fine performance of Shannon as the main character powers the movie along pretty well until the film stumbles to its predictable conclusion.
| Original Score: C+ | Jan 1, 2001
As the film goes on, the character does get depth, the situations do stay reasonably fresh and the humour keeps things mostly above the belt.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Jan 1, 2000
Superstar is, surprisingly, not awful.

Jeez, I was yearning to leave after less than five minutes watching the spectacularly annoying, thirty-something Molly Shannon flounce around as an adolescent social misfit.

There's really no reason for anyone to see this film except die hard Shannon fans.
