Collateral Damage Reviews
Just use brawn over brain in accepting the logical order of events in this film.

The subject matter is timely and relevant, but the attention to action over sincerity dulls the potency of the themes - as any shoot-'em-up Schwarzenegger movie should.

Schwarzenegger in very violent vigilante film.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Dec 22, 2010
Straining every muscle not to offend, Collateral Damage counts basic coherence among its own casualties. But it's crystal clear on one point: Taking mercy on the "enemy," women and children included, is for wimps.

Schwarzenegger's Brewer remarks, 'If I don't do it, it seems no one else will,' but that's a lousy excuse for...a multi-million dollar mistake like this one. [Blu-ray]

I was thrown for a loop at how good this movie was and guys will love it.

...the studio didn't make it for any particular political purpose; it's basically just a stock, action-revenge flick, typical of Big Arnold.
| Original Score: 5/10 | Apr 22, 2009
A competent Schwarzenegger action movie that will appeal to the nostalgic.

The plot is laughably bad, and the action not much better.

The film's less knee-jerk than it could have been.

Diverting popcorn entertainment.

Judged purely as a piece of escapist popcorn fun, Collateral Damage only barely passes muster.

... Time may be running out for Arnold the action hero.

Apparently, it's relatively easy for a 6-foot tall, musclebound, non Spanish-speaking white guy to penetrate the depths of the Colombian guerilla-controlled jungle
| Original Score: 3/5 | Mar 19, 2003
The whole South American adventure looks so forced you half expect Schwarzenegger to break into a travel programme piece to camera.
| Original Score: 1/5 | Feb 12, 2003
Rule of thumb: if Arnold Schwarzenegger is the smartest person in a movie, you've got problems.
| Original Score: 1.5/5 | Feb 8, 2003
All in all, "Collateral Damage" is entertaining in all the ways a Schwarzenegger film is expected to: bad guys do him dirty, Arnold's character vows revenge, lots of things blow up, and the bad guys get theirs... a more intense actor would have carried it
| Original Score: 1.5/4 | Dec 29, 2002
An entertaining action movie, nothing more, nothing less.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Dec 8, 2002
It will be remembered less for its generic content than for the real-life events that give it an eerie resonance.

This simplistic good and evil concept has long been a staple of Hollywood. What is more worrying is that it now appears to constitute American foreign policy.
