Smart action thriller. Interesting subject with excellent film making and acting.

This movie is a great action thriller. The pace of the movie runs smoothly and is a fun watch. It’s definitely a bloody watch, but the acting and anticipation keep you wanting more. I just love this movie, one of my favs.

It's a solid, lean thriller. The script isn't anything special, but it works as an vehicle for Friedkin to stage exceptional chase sequences.

What few, if any, imperfections are forgettable. This is a Great movie. The cinematography, writing, directing, and acting are top tier. Severely underrated.

This is one that gets better as it ages. Sure, the story contains no profound plot twists. But the action is top notch and that is what one seeks in this kind of movie. It's arguable no Hollywood action movie has ever had better knife fight choreography than The Hunted. The effective use of location shooting in and around Portland Oregon just adds to the sense of weight to the proceedings: real people in real places doing real things.

Passable but not good enough for this cast.

It's good... Some of the characters serve 0 purpose and really don't do much the entire movie until they use the main stars of the film. The movie has lots going on for it but then it becomes boring. the movie itself kept me entertained tho and I like the setting of the film. its kind of a mix of First Blood and The Fugitive which is funny cus Tommy lee Jones is in this one too. Wud recommend tho

A movie with no twists or turns, what was advertised is what you got. Some good action scenes, but not a film that I would go back to.

What was really bad. Tommy Lee Jones is not credible in this "Rambo" remake. It was a good laugh though.

A not very good movie that does not make a lot of sense. The themes here have all been done to death elsewhere - fugitive on the run, trained by the military to be a killing machine, evades capture 75 times, kills many people, is presented favorably and heroically. Whose fault is it that he kills? What kind of justice is this? Gee, who knows? We must ask these questions for the 10 thousandth time if we can stay awake long enough to ask them. One actor is 35, and the other is 65, but they both possess the exact same pro athlete superhuman physical capabilities and stamina. The 35 year old cannot jump, climb, or run faster or longer than the 65 year old. ?

Fond memories of this, even if it could have been much better. Was never going to be a dud for me with Tommy Lee Jones & Benicio Del Toro as the main leads.

Pure hunting pleasure, made for predator fans...

I enjoyed the movie. The acting was well done, especially Tommie Lee Jones, of whom I am a big fan. Loved the wilderness scenes, the urban chase scenes less so. In my opinion, it is unfair to criticize the plot as being lean since it is inspired by the actual events of chapter 2 in Tom Brown's book Case Files of a Tracker. Real life is has a thin plot, Real life is mostly boring and repetitive. It must be compressed to present as a drama. Selection is involved. Is it to be presented, so to speak, as a brass band marching down Main Street or a solitary piper on a forlorn hill in the Scottish Highlands. As far as I was concerned, the horrors in Bosnia explained Halam's character and the release of the beautiful wolf from the snare explained Bonhams. For the record, I think Roger Ebert's review is spot on (see his website) & should have been included here.

It was awful. TL Jones should have retired after this one. Lots of pointless action.

So stupid, I couldn't stop watching.

An impossibly stupid movie. But it has Tommy Lee Jones, Benicio Del Toro, and Connie Nielsen in it.

One thing this movie taught me: I could never live in Portland, Oregon. Director William Friedkin didn't have to work hard to make it look dark, rainy, and gloomy. That's just the way it naturally is most of the time. Portland makes for a good chase setting, though, and the chase is what this movie is about. But there is also some subtext. Benicio Del Toro plays Aaron, a former special ops soldier suffering from PTSD after the carnage he witnessed in Kosovo. He's on a killing spree in Oregon, slaughtering hunters because they're using high tech rifles and not giving the animals a chance. Because the killing took place on state land, the FBI is called in, as well as survivalist L.T. (Tommy Lee Jones), who just happens to be Aaron's former teacher. Aaron goes on the run, with the FBI and Jones in hot pursuit. Critics have panned this film for being nothing more than Friedkin showing off his chops. There is no doubt that he does chase scenes better than most. But there is also an underlying theme of men and their compulsion to hunt and kill—both animals and other men. And there is an anti-war undercurrent. In spite of his training, it's possible that Aaron might have had a normal life if it were not for his experiences in Kosovo. The message that war creates killers is not far from the truth. But most of all, this is a chase movie. Admittedly, much of the chase scenes don't make a lot of sense and are done mainly for thrills (Why would Aaron board a train, get out through through a hole in the roof, and climb a bridge?), but if you like action, this is as good as it gets. Things get pretty silly as we move toward the final showdown between the two men next to a raging river. Aaron stops, builds a fire, and forges a knife from a metal bar. L.T. carves a knife from a piece of flint. Clearly, these two badasses are going to have a typical Hollywood confrontation: excessively bloody and physically impossible. It's pure macho stuff. And as to Friedkin showing off his chops…..Well, if you've got it, flaunt it.

Great knife fights & chase scenes, solid performances and surefooted direction by William Fredkin make this an entertaining (and underrated) thriller.

Acting is good. Storyline is good. And it's full of action. The only one thing I didn't like is it's resemblance to any kind of realism. But that's just me, I guess.
