Anger Management Reviews
The pacing can be pretty lackluster at times but when the comedy works it works really well
It’s a ok movie but not the best and some parts are just cringe and it could have been better and not only the duo of the main characters kinda suck and gets boring
I appreciate comedy is subjective, but some of these bad reviews are just disturbing to read lol .... Like okay so the comedy wasn't to your taste, but you are grossly overexaggerating things. As always though the best comedies will never get good ratings on rotten tomatoes because that's not how comedy works. I mean look at Happy Gilmore, another masterpiece and it's only got about 60%
This is an utter travesty of a film, all jokes absolutely miss the mark by about 5000 miles (I didn’t laugh a single time) and ends up feeling like torture porn. This movie is about a man being manipulated by everyone around him and utterly gaslit, it has a horrible moral which is basically “beat up people you don’t like” and you end up just feeling bad for Dave. This poor man went through two weeks of hell just so his sadistic cow of a girlfriend could be amused. I felt any sense of happiness in this movie once where he tore into his boss, the rest was soul sucking and as I write this I just feel purely empty. This for me is going forward the gold standard example of a horrendous film, never watch this unless you want to regret even deciding you wanted to watch a film that day.
An 1 and 40 minutes that ruined my day. A film I expected to be mediocre but didn’t realize was going to be the absolute worst piece of garbage I’ve ever seen. This movie made me feel as if I needed anger management as it left me infuriated. And what did I take away from it… a message that was terribly executed and can be easily and harmfully misunderstood! Basically the movie gives the audience the impression, “instead of keeping your cool when someone’s being mean to you, you should punch them in the face cause it’s better to let out your anger on someone than be the bigger man”. A film with a terribly executed, backwards message backed up by an insanely infuriating, unfunny and terribly written script. Waste of time, don’t watch it!
Very nice comedy with a main subject I guess most people can identify with. Jack Nicholson is great as always and Marisa Tomei cute but you rarely see Adam Sandler that restrained. The film's a good laugh.
We all could use a little anger management in our lives Adam Sandler, Jack Nicholson, Marisa Tomei, Luis Guzman, John Tuturro, Woody Harrelson, Krista Allen, and an upcoming January Jones directed by Peter Segal A comedy about getting past the many frustrations Dave Buznick has a lot of insecurities and things that are bothering him from being completely complacent He has a demanding job, a beautiful girlfriend Linda he hasn't proposed to, and some issues he has yet to work out internally After he's declared rageful on a plane he's sentenced to go under anger management therapy by famous author Buddy Rydell Clearly it'll be an adjustment for Dave seeing how kooky Buddy's methods are to get his anger under control whether in group session or in public Temper is the one thing you can't get rid of by losing it Definitely found myself laughing at the silly writing and much of the visual gags It doesn't make much sense but the occasional belly laugh is the best medicine A first-rate cast and a decent story make this comedy more enjoyable than it needs to be Nicholson and Sandler make a lovable comedic duo
One of Adam Sandler's better films. For the most part, he's the normal guy here and Jack Nicholson's the crazy one....it works. Also, this is one comedy that doesn't lose its way late in the game. I totally buy into the surprise at the end (no spoilers).
Anger Management is overall a fun movie. Nicholson and Sandler are great together, each brings their own charm to the table. A lot of good situational humor, the inherent absurdity of the concept makes for some fun situations too. It's just a little tough to embrace the fact that Adam Sandler's character passed anger management after beating up a monk and then attacking his teacher. I can look passed the concept of the film to enjoy it, but everything going all fine and dandy after he assaults two people and trespasses on a field was just too much disbelief to suspend. I finished the movie overall happy, but left with a bit of a sour taste.
Just a genuinely funny movie; not pretentious in the slightest and Jack Nicholson is f**king brilliant. So many quotable moments and never ceases to make me feel good which, I think, is all that you want from a comedy.
The uncivil representation of psychological abuse that oddly comes off as a nice journey of healing and growth, with delightful scenes that produce a good laugh.
Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler in a buddy comedy, what could possibly go wrong? May I just say everything.. People hate Sandler for his comedies but I genuinely enjoy them and I really like Sandler especially after I watched Uncut Gems. In a similar way I just wanted to enjoy an Adam Sandler film and I think I chose the wrong film to watch and enjoy because this film was a major let down for me. I found it funny in a few scenes and during the rest of the scenes I just went WHY just WHY. This film is so poorly written it bothers me, I love the logline for this movie - Therapist with anger problems tries having anger management sessions with his client- but no they had to mess it up in every way possible and I am so sad. The final twist just didn't land and wasn't presented properly, it just felt really sudden and I mean it in a bad way, like a really bad way. The first act felt so terrible and rushed and I was so bothered by that. The second act could have been really exhausting if it weren't for the performances and the chemistry of both the leads. It was their chemistry that made me stick till the end and it just breaks my heart to see how such an interesting pair was just wasted. Finally all I can say is that anger management and it's ending gave me anger issues and now I actually need anger management (I hope jack Nicholson isn't my therapist).
From Promising Concept to Disappointment "Anger Management" had the potential to be a comedic gem, but unfortunately, it falls flat on so many levels, leaving me deeply disappointed and frustrated. Several reasons contribute to my negative view of the film. Firstly, the concept of the movie seemed promising, with the idea of a mild-mannered individual mistakenly attending an anger management program led by an eccentric therapist. However, the execution was lackluster, and the potential for clever humor and engaging storytelling was squandered. The film's biggest letdown was undoubtedly Jack Nicholson's portrayal. As a revered actor with a track record of outstanding performances, seeing him deliver a lackluster act was disheartening. It felt as though the film was primarily an Adam Sandler project, with Nicholson serving as mere hired talent. Furthermore, Adam Sandler's character, Dave Buznik, was grating and one-dimensional, making it difficult to sympathize or connect with him. This constant whiny and uninteresting persona became tiresome and took away from any enjoyment the movie might have offered. Additionally, the use of celebrity cameos only served to distract from the already weak plot. Instead of enhancing the story, they felt forced and unnecessary. Another glaring issue was the lack of quality control evident in the production team. The fact that some of the producers were associated with poorly received films like "Master of Disguise" and "The Animal" raises concerns about the film's overall direction and vision. The film's attempts at humor often felt repetitive and cheap, relying on the same tired jokes rather than delivering fresh and clever comedic moments. In the end, "Anger Management" left me cringing due to its excessive sentimentality and lack of substance. It failed to engage me as a viewer and wasted the talents of its cast. Overall, "Anger Management" was a huge letdown, earning a mere 2 out of 10. It had the potential to be so much more, but the poorly executed concept, lackluster performances, and unimpressive humor left me thoroughly dissatisfied with the film.
LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 46 minutes, including 1 f-bomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The director should not have been drinking on the set. It could have been a big hit. But i guess that directing some actors is impossible while sober.
I know it's a movie and we need to suspend our disbelief, but the overall premise just gets more and more ridiculous.
Some funny parts, mostly not great
Pretty good movie. I was angry, mad, surprised, and laughed a lot. Whos's that pretty girl in that window there....What window where! Lol!
