Stealth Reviews
It is in no way one of great movies of all time but it is an interesting to watch action flick with some ahead-of-its-time references and interactions with AI. Overall, an enjoyable guilty pleasure that's worth a watch.
Watchable, though predictable. AI parts have aged well and aren’t actually silly at all. Couldn’t predict the ending, however, because it was silly. AI airplane with plenty of ammo left deliberately collided with a dumb Mi-8 of DPRK. Why?
Such a great fighter movie, too far ahead of it's time for critics. Superb war fighting action, and some great points we're now genuinely looking at. Only people that don't like this movie are either on the other side, or g.
Ok. First. The whole movie is just, laughably goofy, but then they kill Jamie Fox, and 30 minutes later the killer robot plane is the best friend. Then they crash into North Korea and act like they are being heroic for F'n up them trying to protect their country. Wtf. Do not watch. Go watch Slotherhouse instead.
Stealth is actually a fairly entertaining film! I expected the effects to be a lot worse considering what I've heard. Like with any film, focusing on the world and not the technical aspects behind it, will have you immersed. The film has some cool action scenes for sure! Unfortunately though, the characters felt pretty weak, and the story revolving around an AI controlled stealth jet felt undercooked. Lots of cool ideas. Some executed well, and many others chaotically thrown at a wall in the hopes of sticking. With that said, if you just want cool action and spectacle, you could certainly do worse. Also, if you're a fan of films heavily involving aircraft, or artificial intelligence, you should watch this movie at least once! You might like it more than I did!
The sound, editing, cinematography and special effects is something we should celebrate for. Before Maverick Top Gun came out, I really like this film as it stands out for fighter planes doing what they should be seen on film
A proper trainwreck of a movie that has nothing going for it except Biel's good looks. Foxx performance is flatlining as usual.
LOVED IT. Sure it wasn't perfect and lacked in several areas; Yet, it captured the essence of.possibilities and scenarios..... For me it was entertaining- The flight scenes breathtaking. I could imagine myself in a Stealth - Awesome 👍 And enjoying the R & R 🙌 .also. May freedom ring forever in the 🇺🇸 usa
This is quite simply the worst movie ever made that cannot use poverty or inexperience as an excuse. It had a huge budget, top-notch actors, and killer CGI (for the era) but still is just consistently dumb and overly emotional without really connecting us to that emotion because it comes from cardboard cutout characters. Everyone is a stereotype! No one has inner thoughts, feelings, or aspirations! Every action must be announced before it happens, then either nothing happens or everything explodes. This movie hurts my head and I want to run away.
this was an amazing movie. i'm not sure why the critics reviews are so low. the AI concepts are good. the scene where they blow up the air tanker is awesome
My lust for Jessica overcame any objectivity regarding this film. Achingly beautiful and wasted on her husband. Five stars for Jessica.
GREAT MOVIE OF ALL TIME! It perfectly illustrate what's the modern warfare would look like and don't even mentioned the neural networks and AI back in the freaking 2005. It's a vision!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It successfully held my attention throughout its thrilling action sequences. Initially, I was unaware of Jamie Foxx's involvement in the movie. However, his untimely demise, which was quite poignant, added an extra layer of intrigue, making the film truly captivating.
It's ok to just let it play while doing some boring work. Nothing more, definitely not a very good movie. The lightning strike breaking literal electronic DNA-strings made me laugh and just like that I couldn't take the movie serious anymore. Movies are really made for dumb people.
Some decent ideas a strong cast and a mess of a script.
This movie matures with age. Just saw it in 2023 and really enjoyed it. Stuff the critics see it and judge for yourself.
Short review: I can best describe Stealth as ‘A lot of interesting plot ideas started and none of them ever finished or even fleshed out'. This is further exacerbated by flat acting with no charisma between actors, a forgettable soundtrack, inconsistent special effects, and the film being shot so poorly, specifically the never ending shaky cam effect. It's not completely unwatchable and there's clearly a workable as well as interesting concept underneath it all, it's just unfortunate the final product feels more like a first draft script than a completed one. Ultimately, it's factually a bad movie that I can't deny I derive some enjoyment from. Long review: The plot has to be the biggest bone of contention here. It skips around aimlessly most of the time, missing opportunities for character development despite having several scenes of ‘downtime' for the navy pilots. The dialogue is cringy and just not believable even as dumbed down military speak. There seems to be an implication the United States is embroiled in a global conflict, it's just not clear with ‘who' that enemy is or even if there is more than one faction to it. The ‘true' bad guy is revealed late in the film, but his motives are so ambiguous, you're left wondering why he became a bad guy. There is a serious problem of plot convenience a few times as well as the simple question of if the pilots could even function at the G-forces being depicted. The concept of artificial intelligence becoming more human because you can't put a limit on its learning capabilities is definitely a good arc, but it has trouble finding its footing and is often overshadowed by unnecessary filler. The romantic subplot also comes seemingly out of nowhere due to poor character development and it's hard to sympathize with the characters as a result. I will give credit for the movie killing off a main character, it's one of the more unexpected turns and one storytellers rarely utilize, I just wish I was more invested in that character, so the impact was more meaningful. The final act of the film was the highlight, but given what came before to get there, it doesn't have the strength to carry the story by itself. The characters are just too flat and forgettable with only concepts of arcs implemented into them.I feel like there was serious miscasting too. Josh Lucas, who has decent abilities, will never not come off as a slimy used car salesman, so the role as a military leader feels inappropriate. Jamie Foxx always seems to be playing Jamie Foxx, whether here, as Electro, or the President of the United States. Sam Shepard is no stranger to playing military commanders, like in Black Hawk Down, but a commander turned villain just didn't seem like a good role to cast him in. EDI is the highlight of the story. The robotic plane that bears a resemblance to HAL 9000 undergoes several allegiance and personality changes as he comes into consciousness outside of programming and I found his demise more poignant than any human characters' death. The thing holding EDI back is plot itself. iRobot, which released a year earlier, covers a similar idea, but has a stronger plot to back it up. Special effects are wildly inconsistent. Sometimes they look really good, other times, they look cheap and something you'd find on a 온라인카지노추천 show of the same year. I'd be more forgiving given that this is a 2005 film, but since the quality is so varied, I'm left wondering why it wasn't more consistently higher quality if they had a choice. How scenes are shot is hard to stomach, especially where the aircraft are involved. The camera is rarely not shaking. By comparison, the two Top Gun movies or even Independence Day, wisely kept the camera planted for the most part in aircraft scenes, only shaking where it seemed appropriate and not for extended periods of time. On occasion when the camera holds still and no action is present, the film does have some good shots of scenery. It also does have something more to offer than close-in shots as well, something that is often overlooked as of late. The soundtrack is extremely forgettable outside the early 2000s licensed rock music. I can't say it's inappropriate, just unremarkable background noise. Same can be said for sound design in general. Not bad, but not anything to write home about. Overall, it's hard to recommend Stealth to even hardcore fans of the dogfighting genre. But it's also hard to deny the fact I also took a certain enjoyment from it too. There is a good story somewhere in this script and with a few changes, I feel it could've come to fruition. As it stands, we have what we have and I can only judge it on that.
"Stealth" can best be described as an amalgamation of bizarre camera motions, directionless plot, and a cast of characters so underwritten that only the film's A.I. computer stands out by comparison. So much of this production had the potential to create an exciting action experience, yet almost every one of those aspects went ultimately unpolished and the presentation suffered in turn. When a main character dies unexpectedly, only a hollow emptiness is felt due to their lackluster significance in the plot. When another, better-written character is implied to have perished, the scene still doesn't hit any emotional strings thanks to the poor timing of what otherwise might have been a tragic send off. Though there are some good moments of action and intrigue sprinkled in throughout the runtime, they are unfortunately limited in number. Since much of the plot skips around at the drop of a hat, lacking a cohesive narrative that at times feels subtly contrived, the stakes are never truly felt. A example of which is the main adversary, whose motives are frustratingly kept in the dark throughout the entire story. By never explaining the endgame of their objectives, it subsequently leads to their role getting drastically undercut by the other antagonistic forces gradually shoehorned in one after the other. Perhaps the most jarring part of the film is at the point where a climax should occur, but doesn't. The scene drops in out of nowhere, the sacrifice made breaks logic and reason, and the movie wraps up mere moments later. In summery, while the film is decent overall and fairly entertaining, it is sadly forgettable when placed alongside far better works.
If Rob Cohen sat in front of the camera and insulted us it would have been more honest
So predictable. Poorly written. Actors just acting for a paycheck. Computerized super high tech fighter jet going berserk after being struck by lightening. Voice sounds like HAL from 2001. Don't waste your time.
