Fred Claus Reviews
Slightly entertaining, no jokes that draw a laugh
Critics didnt get this one right, great Christmas movie, with a awesome message.
This is the best Christmas movie! Absolutely hilarious. I don’t understand the bad reviews. This movie is such a gem!
Wow! I loved this movie! There are NO BAD KIDS!!! My kids absolutely loved it. Hilarious! Fun! And GREAT MUSIC!
Excellent movie with a fantastic cast and great (if haphazard) themes that belong to Christmas: especially sibling relationships and a grow-the-pie philosophy about abundance and gifts. Plus a fantastic Elvis dance scene with Vince Vaughn. In 2024 this 2007 film shines amid the dreck of Christmas movies since then.
This movie is quintessential Vince Vaughn! And Paul Giamatti, for that matter. I really enjoyed this movie, no matter how silly it was. It is going into our yearly rotation of holiday movies, for sure.
I genuinely don’t understand why this film gets so many bad reviews. Funny premise, great cast, Paul Giamatti as Santa is brilliant, ideal use of Vince Vaughn’s comedic style.
I actually love this movie. I don't understand the dislike so many have expressed. Oh well. I'll always enjoy it.
Funny dysfunctional family adult Christmas movie. A classic.
Most of it is very negative and features a lot of fighting and arguing, and horrible problems that don't seem to have any solutions, angry characters acting poorly, having multiple borderline violent interactions, until the end when all of the sudden it gets really sappy and tries to be heartwarming. Every Christmas movie cliche is stolen and fails in this movie. Never funny, never entertaining, just one rough slog through very boring territory. VV seems tired throughout, and he should be. Giamatti as VV's brother and as Santa is terribly miscast and painful to watch. One of the worst Christmas films ever made, really quite terrible. 1.5 stars for the Christmas sets and costumes, which were pretty good.
Fred clause is fantastic. Anyone who disagrees can kick rocks.
I don't understand why people don't like this movie. I adore it.
**Fred Claus - 2.5 Stars** I’ve always wanted to watch *Fred Claus*, and with this cast, how could I not? Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, and a Christmas vibe? Count me in. Plus, I’ve always had a soft spot for movies with Santa and his elves—it’s such a fun setting! The plot itself is great; I loved the idea of Santa’s bitter brother causing chaos at the North Pole. But man, the writing really drags it down. The movie starts off strong but quickly becomes so flat and predictable that it feels like it’s just crawling to the finish line. It’s frustrating because there’s so much potential here. I wanted to love it, but the execution just isn’t there. That said, it’s decent. It’s got charm and a cozy Christmas vibe, but it’s definitely not a holiday classic. Worth a watch if you’re curious, but keep your expectations low.
This movie should tarnish Vince Vaughns legacy
Love it, I watch it every Christmas..:)
Wasn't sure what to expect, especially after seeing the ratings here. My sister and some friends said it was funny. So, we checked it out. And loved it, it was funny had some feeling to it. Very enjoyable! If you like Vince Vaughan, you will love it. Pleasantly surprised!!
I liked this movie, I want a job in Naughty and Nice Department !
My family and I watch this movie every year. It’s a Christmas movie with a villain, hero and a very sweet lesson that reminds us of what Christmas is about. Watch it with your kids and just enjoy the talented cast and nostalgic music that brought me back to my childhood.
Terrific cast. Enjoyable Christmas film. Humorous, and touching moments. I find both critics & audience too harsh. Sets, costumes, acting all deserve 5 stars. Script weak, but kids love this, and so did I at 73. Basis of story is unequal treatment of sibllings by parents which has brought about conflict between the siblings. This is universally relateable.
Great movie - we have to watch it every year!! Good work!!
