Partition Reviews
I loved this film, set in what was a turbulent time in India and Pakistan's history,, They say birth is a bloody process and this birth of the nation of Pakistan was truly that. What this film demonstrates above anything is that the actions of a few should not cause bias against the masses. People should always be judged on their individual actions and not because of what other of the same race, religion or family etc, have done. I cried bucket loads especially at the end. What can I say, I love a good love story
What was Kreuk doing in the movie? I liked the moving plot and feel for the poor, love-stricken Sikh man who lost his life. There were many gaps in the plot but the story hit a chord within the romantic in me.
Amazing love story. So deep and moving. There really shouldn't be any divides, why do we fight all the time?
The film industry loves to glamourise interracial romance and this movie sees American actress Neve Campbell playing an English woman and partnering a turban-clad Indian man during the political turmoil of the India-Pakistan partition of the late 1940s. Although visually striking, what could have been an interesting political drama is slow, dull, poorly written, and its characters simply fail to register any empathy from the viewer. A big disappointment.
So lovely in scenery, message, and acting. I highly recommend this beautifully poignant film to anyone.
Check the globalism in the fact that its a Canadian movie on Indo-pak separation with British actors. Intense performance given by the lead pair. Awesome i must say. Kristin pulled off the muslim act surprisingly. Though the movie was awfully similar to "Gadar" minus the violence , it had some of its own moments and those moments had a lot of life and freshness. Kudos to the makers.
watching it for religion class horrible slaughtering they are different religions like the ww2 flashbacks trench aww what a sad ending he died cause of the stupid brother wth he tried to save him last second from getting hit by the train tried not to cry so tragic good movie about the partition romantic story
I really enjoyed this film. Sucks that the critics didn't! Oh well!
Sad movie, seen through the eyes of a child. Depicts the English leaving India and the violence that ensues as various fractions fight for land and the right to control India. Political but has an element of romance and humour.
