Deborah Ross The Spectator Both dull and deeply unnecessary; a stinker. Aug 23, 2018 Full Review Geoffrey Macnab Sight & Sound It is part of the richness of 3.10 to Yuma that this is a classical piece of storytelling with themes and characters that can be found in the very earliest Westerns. Jul 6, 2010 Full Review Alonso Duralde MSNBC [I]f you're looking for an Unforgiven-style reinvention of the Western, prepare for disappointment. Rated: 4/5 May 1, 2008 Full Review Michael Clark Epoch Times The filmmakers take a huge chance by altering the original’s final scene and it doesn’t quite work but neither is it a sellout. Even those who’ve never seen the first will find glaring contradictions yet no one will be able to discount its searing impact. Rated: 4/5 Sep 18, 2023 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand It’s a brutal film about brutal people on the frontier, where even the “good guys” are often thugs in it for the money ... Sep 8, 2023 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies Thanks to James Mangold, Christian Bale, Russell Crowe, and the rest of the cast and crew, 3:10 to Yuma is an epic Western in its own right. Faiz D A great ending to a great film. Christian Bale continues to shine as one of the best actors. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/25 Full Review Audience Member The action is okay , nothing amazing, but I find the lack of a deeper character development makes the movie not memorable. A nice western but it could have been much more. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/11/25 Full Review Rovo S This movie will be remembered as a masterpiece in the western genre in years to come Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/28/25 Full Review azeem h Genuinely loved this film, great action sequences, great acting and shows James Mangold is a good director. However the film is let down by such a preposterous ending, I genuinely felt annoyed by it. Still a great watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/28/25 Full Review John R Best modern day western Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/14/25 Full Review Alfie M 3:10 to Yuma is a fantastic Western film and James Manigold is really turning into one my underrated directors. The film has an intense score, some absolutely smart cinematography especially towards the end which made me so impressed and overall some great acting. The sound for this film is unbelievable and feels like I have an IMAX theater inside my ears. The ending really is magnificent and has been questioning and second guessing while the credits role. 3:10 Yuma is definitely a Western I won't forget for a while. Can I also talk about Christian Bale who is truly a star and Russell Crowes on-screen chemistry, I can even comprehend how this is there first and only project together. Why after all my film years did I never know Christian Bale was English (well I knew he was English, but I assume he was one of them English and moved to USA early in birth) he sounds funny to me.
