I can't believe Rotten Tomatoes gave this a high rating. It was schmaltzy from beginning to end. What kind of critics would give it a glowing review.

Inspirational and Impactful story about Jackie Robinson's MLB carrier joining the Brooklyn Dodgers told in a film that the performances from actors like Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford really brought out a feeling that another movie can't replicate. It's an amazing story about segregation and how Jackie fought back against it and I couldn't think of a better actor than Chadwick Boseman to play the role. (RIP)

With wonderful period detail and a great soundtrack, this film tells the story of the integration of major league baseball in the 1940s. It’s the kind of movie you’d watch in American History class in High School, yes, but very well done.

Boseman is wonderful and makes the movie.

A solid inspirational movie which touches on gritty subject matter while keeping to a feel-good story. It could've gone deeper, but we are grateful for what we get. The movie focuses a lot on some unexpected characters, and at the expense of even knowing the names of Robinson's teammates at the end of the film. Ford puts in a good performance, but I wish he had felt a little less like a co-lead and let the focus stay more on Boseman.

Trying to become a baseball fan and I feel like learning about one of America's most influential baseball players is a great start. Obviously did not know a lot about Jackie Robinson before watching this, but now I know a good bit. Great film!

An inspirational sports movie about an all-time great. The two main roles

After seeing so many clips of it on YouTube, I decided to watch this movie. Even though I'm not a big sports fan, I found myself invested in the baseball part of the story, just as much as the rest of the film. Every actor was great, but Harrison Ford and Chadwick Boseman's performances completely knocked it out of the park. They were great in their respective roles. The movie is very faithful to the real story of Jackie Robinson, which is always a plus.

If you know the basic story of Jackie Robinson's baseball career, then you pretty much know what 42 is going to be. It rounds the bases on all the plot points you'd expect in a film like this. However, what really makes 42 stand out among the crowd of inspirational sports movies is Chadwick Boseman. He is so charismatic and sincere in his role as Robinson. This movie made me feel a variety of emotions, including anger & frustration, but what it really does is inspire. It teaches that you can stand strong in the face of adversity, and that there is good amidst all the bad one can find in this world.

This was such a good movie. Harrison Ford was exceptional as usual. Chadwick Boseman will truly be missed. 4.5 stars

A fine tribute to one of the most important American sports figures ever. "42" delivers a powerful story about racial prejudice and explores the topic through Jackie Robinson's illustrious first season.

Great cast, great sequences and fantastic authentic story. More folks should be aware of Robinson's life and what he had to experience!

42 is a powerful and amazing movie. I don't know why it didn't get at least nominated for a few Oscars especially Chadwick Boseman for his portrayal of Jackie Robinson
