I'm not a fan of anime. But this movie is beyond AMAZING! This two hour emotional roller coaster appeals to non anime fans, which makes this unique in every aspect. It gives you a bigger view of life, and what it's like to forgive people who have done the worst things to you. Shoya and Shoko are the cutest anime couple ever. The characters in this movie are unique and each of them have a very special role to play, the story is breathtaking and emotionaly powerful, and the ending of this movie almost made me cry. Even if you're not a fan of anime. I actually you'll like this move in general, this move stand on its own two feet without any fan service. PLEASE CHECK IT OUT!

An emotionally moving movie with an incredible art style. This isn't one of the best animes that I've seen this year, this is one of the best animes I've seen period. Couldn't recommend enough, especially if you're looking for a wild take on a young relationship.

Amazing, poignant, story. When a former bully tries to make up for his previous mistakes, he struggles to forgive himself. Touching and emotional. A powerful, moving film.

An incredibly moving film and one of a kind. Dealing with a lot of mature themes; attempted suicide, disability, anxiety, bullying the list goes on. Yet, in spite of this Kyoto Animation still managed to keep the film light and entertaining by breaking up the serious parts with comedy, mostly provided by Nagatsuka's antics, but not to a point where it was over the top which is exactly what you need in this kind of film. However that being said, it’s not perfect, the story itself could be slow at times and even though it was always engaging, some parts felt like they’d been cut out or rushed and that seemed to take away from the story a little bit as not all the characters were fully developed and you’d be questioning where the story was even going.

An absolutely beautiful story i firmly believe everyone should watch this piece of art it's pacing and story telling are amazing and the animation is truly aw inspiring the mix of emotions I get every time I watch this movie is something I've never felt from another movie

A very powerful message, in my opinion one of the best movies/animes out there!

This movie made my heart quake but also made it so happy. The only thing I'm salty about in this movie is how the main character didn't get with Shoko in the end. Though this is a naive testament since the strong sad emotions in the start and how it leads in the end. This movie resonated with my heart on another level. I used to bully as a child and overtime I've seen the families hate and resentment towards me. This movie really shows how actions are punished even if it is years in the future. And it showed how bad bullying can really get and what it can lead to. It also has extraordinary artwork and musical pieces that added more emotion to the story!

This girl recommended it to me after I talked to her about "my definition of love". Thank you, really. you really hit the nail on the head, huh?

I was surprised to be engrossed in this very personal story of bullying, redemption and love.

Suffocating sorrow throughout most of the story,thankfully ended up with salvation.
