A Working Man Reviews

What this movie does well is the fight sequences where Statham dispenses justice. At those moments, it’s exciting, visceral, and thrilling. What this movie doesn’t do well is… everything else.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Apr 23, 2025

A Working Man doesn’t go quite as bananas as its predecessor...But amid all the action-movie business as usual, some new issues have arisen — namely, who is supposed to be bad and who is presented as good.

I'm always down for a Jason Statham action flick and as much as I wanted to love this one, it's not as strong as THE BEEKEEPER and moved much slower than his previous films.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 21, 2025

It’s all punchy-kicky-shooty without much creativity or inspiration.

Its a Jason Statham movie and for many that alone is enough.

| Original Score: 6/10 | Apr 16, 2025

While Statham's undeniably watchable presence offer some momentary thrills, the film's reliance on an over-the-top and convoluted plot and its disastrously weak villains ultimately transform it into a ridiculous, and unfortunately forgettable watch.

| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Apr 16, 2025

“A Working Man” pulls together better than the usual snatch-and-grab-for-ransom films.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 14, 2025

If it’s action you’re looking for, A Working Man supplies it in confusing, quick fights that will leave you unsatisfied.

| Original Score: D | Apr 14, 2025

Ridiculous. Even the Jason Statham stans have seen this a million times before.

| Original Score: C- | Apr 12, 2025

David Ayer delivers an overlong yarn that hops between predictable, unimaginatively choreographed action set pieces and an unnecessarily complicated plot that falls apart if the viewer looks too closely.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Apr 12, 2025

With Jason Statham doing what he knows and David Ayer directing, “A Working Man” achieves a worthy and entertaining return to big, frenetic movies with an unbeatable hero motivated by the greater good. [Full Review in Spanish]

It wasn't as good as the Beekeeper... [but] it was solid.

| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 11, 2025

Statham is one of a kind. There’s a reason Ayer quickly returned to working with him, and Stallone continues to write scripts for his talents. He’s a silent man of action who achieves more with a kick and a stare than with a mouthy speech.

It’s understandable that A Working Man wants to be Taken. But it really, really wants to be Taken, and it reeks of it.

| Apr 10, 2025

There are many ways a generic movie like this can be elevated, but director David Ayer hasn't been able to access any of them. The screenplay is over-complicated, the villains are impossible to take seriously and the action is an unengaging blur.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Apr 10, 2025

A Working Man is exactly what its name implies: meat and potatoes vigilante action, nothing too fancy, but a good meal just the same.

Im easy to please with mid-budget action thrillers, especially the ones led by Statham. This one just felt as generic and derivative as it gets. The action isn't entertaining enough to make up for its Taken ripoff plot, weak villains, and dragged pacing.

| Original Score: 2/5 | Apr 8, 2025

It's a cross between Taken, John Wick, one of them Matrix movies, and every Jason Statham movie you have ever seen in your life. While not one brain cell will be exercised, you will be entertained and laugh every time you're not supposed to.

| Original Score: C+ | Apr 8, 2025

Watching A Working Man was some of the most fun I've had in a theater this year. The craziness is what keeps it interesting.

| Apr 8, 2025

Jason Statham is always watchable when he’s defeating evil with his big meaty fists.
