Absolution Reviews
It's a good movie, it doesn't have as much action as Liam Neeson's regular movies, but it deals with very sensitive and complicated topics. It's still a good movie.
Not bad, not one of his best movies, but certainly not his worst, Liam Neeson. Liam Neeson belongs absolutely to one of my favorite actors, the Taken movies great.
Wow, awful. Incredibly boring. Couldn't get through it. There's really nothing driving the plot. What a grey depressing slog. There's no reason for this movie to exist. Pick better scripts Liam.
Neesom is an old gangster with a memory illness...but he can't save the pace of this film.
Slow at the beginning, but become a bit interesting at the end. Still, it's a garbage movie.
Slow, slow, slow. There is nothing unique about this dying old thug story.
A bit meandering and slow
I expected this to be a poor film based on the reviews and I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. The acting was great and the subject matter handled very well. A different type of film for Liam Neeson and he carries it off well one of his better ones.
Great film, highlights struggles of the modern family and society which kept me gripped throughout, also great to see Liam Neeson play a character that shows strength, regret and vulnerability.
I liked this movie because of its juxtaposition of quiet and stormy scenes and while it did delve into cliche at times it has great rhythm and performances. Liam Neeson seems to be typecast as a tough guy loner but I for one enjoyed this movie more than a lot of the endlessly kinetic actioners being regurgitated by the Hollywood “Dream Factory”.
Liam Neeson is at it again. This time he plays an aging gangster who has begun to suffer from memory problems, so he seeks a doctor´s advice. That's where the nasty truth comes out. Neeson's character has to put things in order quickly. his kids don´t want to meet their father, and it is not easy with the underworld either. That's how boringly Absolution begins. I have to admit that Liam Neeson has sunk really deep, and the bottom may not even be visible yet. He is an aging actor who used to make great movies, but he is no longer fit for Hollywood? Absolution continues the series of bad movies that Neeson has drifted into. This time, too, it's about revenge and correcting past mistakes. Once again, Neeson croaks, whispers and whines. I guess I can reveal that even now it ends badly. It hardly surprises anyone anymore. The charisma known from Neeson's Taken films has completely disappeared, and his character is no longer menacing or scary. The man ingeniously named Tough is mostly pathetic. I don't mean to insult Neeson, but now would be a good time to retire. The film is not saved by the fact that Neeson's boss is played by Hellboy Ron Perlman himself. I don't know if the gentlemen are friends in real life. It looks like Perlman has come to help a friend in trouble. Director Hans Petter Moland should also rethink his career.
The plot fails to grab the viewer's attention. You expect something to happen but nothing happens and something has to happen even if it's not an action movie.
Very very slow plot. Also, very dark movie. Don't recommend.
This was crazy wild out, but still a good movie.
Liam Neeson inhabits the role in such a breathtaking manner that if I didn’t know he has been an actor his whole life I’d have thought he was born into the life. The other actors are great in their roles but Neeson commands every scene with deft precision. I hope this man wins an oscar or better. It was almost a documentary and definitely depicts what most people refuse to accept is the reality for many especially right now unfortunately.
A difficult film to watch, somewhat depressing; however, very well acted and well worth the time to watch.
downer not done well
