I’m so glad I got to see this on the big screen!

It was my first time watching this movie, and this is a highly underrated, but a really good movie. The vfx still holds up somewhat today, which is pretty impressive for a very early cgi usage. And the story was easy to follow, but was executed pretty well.

One of my top 10 films of all time, finally mastered to modern a/v standards! I love the special edition of this movie so much that I haven’t watched it in almost 20 years, because it’s never even gotten a proper anamorphic transfer, much less an HD remaster, and I won’t watch it in inferior quality. James Cameron has finally given us the 4K iteration of this film (and True Lies) that we’ve waited for. I’m thrilled to have gotten to see it on the big screen, the way he intended it to be seen. When the digital release hits on 12/12/23 (or best yet, the UHD disc release on 3/12/24), DO NOT sleep on this!

Wonderful. James Cameron was already thinking in 3D — every scene just has so much depth, it’s hard to describe.

One of Cameron's best films. Amazing use of practical effects as well as ground breaking cgi that still (mostly) holds up today.

Great movie. The big screen with Atmos is the best way to see it

The theatrical experience of THE ABYSS (SPECIAL EDITION) trounces and shames all other options available. Choose wisely.

Such an amazing movie. First time seeing it and definitely worth seeing it now that it was remastered in 4K. Packed theater made it a no brainer to go see, plus having AMC A-list helps as well. Amazing jobs as always James Cameron.

This new 4k transfer looked amazing. I've never seen it look so good. it's leaps and bounds above the dvd. I can't wait to own it in 4k in march. I haven't seen it since I got a HD 온라인카지노추천 almost 20 years ago do to how atrocious the DVD looked, but seeing it in Dolby was like it was the first time

I've never seen the Abyss before but always heard it was fantastic and man, this movie was great!! Better than all the movies I've seen this year! The movie looks gorgeous and was clearly a labor of love for James Cameron.

Added scenes for this special edition were absolutely VITAL to the story. Glad they were added back in! Nice introduction by James Cameron himself. Sound and picture were top notch throughout. Highly recommended. 👍

One of James Cameron's best restored in pristine 4K. Great to see the special edition on the big screen for the first time. I can't wait to own it on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.

James Cameron knows how to give us spectacle and this is his masterpiece of tension, character building, thrills, and adventure all in one. The performances are amazing especially Ed Harris and the rest of the gang. The cinematography, score from Alan Silvestri, impeccable and groundbreaking sound design and visual effects are top tier flawless and Cameron is a master of that. Its a shame that we don't get films with this since of fun, thrills, and love. The film still holds and and to see it in the theater is a blessing. Even though we know that it was a very, very rough shoot, the final product is mesmerizing

The Abyss is a sci-fi classic. Some of the cgi is not great considering how spoiled we usually are these days but not worse than some projects that have come out in recent years. Regardless it looks great in Dolby Cinema and the acting performances are still top tier.
