A truly great film. Exceptional cast, great script, wonderful music. I truly love this film and think it expertly captures the era.

Poignant, touching, and with a lot of humor

An absolute master piece based in the 80s full of nostalgia. The on screen chemistry between Jesse and Kristen is something to be admired. The film is a drama with a lot of comedy from bill hader especially, I’ve watched it a lot of times. Just goes to show the brainy kid gets the girl.

"Adventureland" is a pretty great YA film with all the drama set working in an 80s theme park, which is a cool and, irrevocably, not so cool place to be. I couldn't help but feel for this small story we can all relate to - whether that's falling in love, working at a shitty job, fooling around with your friends, low-fi drama and just being a young person in general. The soundtrack is nostalgically fire, the cinematography and direction is honest, and the characters are simply, real. The film is simply a chill, genuinely fun time, and I would honestly pop it in when a need for such a time inevitably comes by.

Adventureland in an amazing coming of age comedy that succeeds at what it tries to do. This film creates a wonderful atmosphere, gets great performances out of all of its leads (especially Eisenberg, Hader, and Stewart), and is amazingly written both comedic and dramatic. My main takeaway is that I wish that Greg Mottola wrote more films, because the two he wrote (Adventureland and The Daytrippers) have some of the best and most clever writing I've seen in comedy film.

I found the humor to be too light and the writing to not be great. It is entertaining but I did not feel much emotion throughout the film. If anything this film is nostalgic. It reminds you of the summers you have only when you’re young

"Adventureland" is a coming-of-age drama that captures the nostalgic essence of late 1980s youth, centering on a recent college graduate who takes a summer job at a local amusement park. Kristen Stewart delivers a surprisingly strong performance, adding depth to her character and bringing genuine emotion to the screen. The film presents a nice blend of drama and romance, offering a heartfelt love story amidst the backdrop of quirky park antics. However, despite these positive elements, the slow pace of the narrative often causes it to drag, leaving moments of boredom that overshadow its charm. In the end, while "Adventureland" has its commendable aspects, it falls short of being truly engaging throughout, making it an okay watch but not a standout one.

If the script and the characters had been as good as the soundtrack this could have been a great little movie. Jesse Eisenberg once again plays the socially awkward pseudo intellectual character. This was perfect for playing Mark Zuckerberg in the Social Network but didn't ring true as a young man in the 80s who was smart enough and cool enough to dig Lou Reed and The Replacements. The other 80s theme park coming of age movie with Sam Rockwell, The Way,Way Back had a more relatable young protagonist, humorous charm, and rang truer. It's disappointing that a movie with such a stellar soundtrack lacks an equally poignant script. I wonder what Lou Reed and Paul Westerberg thought. If they saw it I'm sure they had mixed emotions.

It's the summer of 1987, and recent college grad James Brennan (Jesse Eisenberg) can't wait to begin his long-anticipated dream trip to Europe. Unfortunately, James' plans come to a screeching halt when his parents announce that they are unable to subsidize his trip. Forced to take a job at the local amusement park, James prepares for the worst summer ever, until he finds love with a captivating co-worker named Em (Kristen Stewart).

Decent coming of age film, and an easy watch; the acting didn’t let it down. There wasn’t really any laugh out loud moments, and it has a very simplistic story line. Worth a watch, but one you may forget on the whole, as I did from watching at the cinema to my second viewing.

It's a solid 8/10. A coming of age film with 80's soundtrack. Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg are decent in the starring roles. Script is OK. Doesn't explain how Em gets to live in New York, and the end was a tad predictable.

Adventureland is actually a really good teen coming-of-age film. It just feels like a really good throwback to a kind of film that just doesn't get made anymore. You care about the characters working at this carnival, and the drama is pretty strong. The cast is all great, with some really funny moments from Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig, and a nice teen romance from Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart. The humor in this works pretty well with, like I said before, Bill Hader having some standout moments. The film is pretty predictable at times, and it's not like it's an incredible film or anything. Also, sometimes the characters can be pretty unlikable. Aside from those issues though, this is a really solid throwback to 80's comimg-of-age teen romances.

An easy to watch & cute tale of love in a small town over summer. Gottola does well to capture the feeling of nostalgia in his movies, as if we lived them ourselves & Adventureland is no exception.

The soundtrack is unbeatable. A fun telling of an offbeat romance before college and captures the magic of the 80s. Can't get enough of this feel good movie.

Maybe it helps to be of a certain age, but Adventureland strikes pretty close to home for those of us growing up in the '70s and '80s. NOt as funny as it could have been, but Eisenberg and Stewart have chemistry, and her disaffected demeanor is appropriate and effective as Em. The general awkwardness of it all is why it works so well. Teens are awkward, and should be portrayed as such. The grittiness of the seedy amusement park is spot on, a character in its own right. Highly enjoyable.
